Which type of foundation is right for dry skin?

If you have dry skin, you'll want to steer clear of foundation that's too matte or drying - so anything aimed at those with oily skin. Satin, satin-matte, demi-matte or dewy are ideal for dry skin types, although everyone's skin is different, so you'll need to do some experimenting to find your perfect fit.

Steer clear of powder foundations, as these can cling to dry areas and make your skin look patchy - plus they can dry out your skin even more.

Look for foundations that are hydrating, with ingredients like vitamin E and hyaluronic acid.

Caring for dry skin

Just choosing a great foundation for dry skin isn't the be-all and end-all to getting the gorgeous base you desire. You've got to spend a little time on prep, too. Ensure to add an exfoliator into your arsenal, as this will help rid your skin of any flakiness. Add in a hydrating toner and moisturise well, to keep your skin feeling fresh all day.

Also, choose a primer which moisturises your skin and gives you a smooth, blank canvas for your foundation application.
