Dancing on Ice stars Alexander Demetriou and Carlotta Edwards are reportedly “taking a break” from their four-year marriage after it was reported she removed her wedding ring and flew back to her native Canada.

It’s now been claimed Alexander and Carlotta are taking some time apart to decide the future of their relationship.

A source told The Sun, “Carlotta and Alex are taking a break from their marriage and are trying to work out what they want from the future.

“Isolation is giving them a lot of time to think and both are with their families.

“Alex’s friendship with Maura [Higgins] was the first proper crack in their relationship. But now they’re at breaking point.”

While the pair’s split is thought to be temporary for now, friends are said to be concerned their relationship could be over for good.

Alexander was linked to Maura Higgins after they were paired up on the latest series of Dancing on Ice but she's since insisted they're just friends.

The Love Island star, who announced her split from Curtis Pritchard last month, recently made a savage quip about being single after filming a TikTok with fellow Islander Chris Taylor.

The hilarious clip sees Chris don his signature floral robe that he famously wore in the villa, while Maura poses in a bunny costume, before they switch outfits for the aptly-titled Flip the Switch Challenge.

Maura shared the video on Instagram, writing, “You can still have fun whilst self-isolating,” and it wasn’t long before her followers flooded the comments with support. Chris also took to the comment section, joking, “Is it weird I’ve still got the outfit on?”, which led Maura to make a remark about her relationship status.

She replied, “I’m gonna keep mine on until the bf comes home… oh wait, I forgot I don’t have one anymore 😂.”
