It not only introduced us to the world's best liar/ actress Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and her now ex-boyfriend, Davide Sanclimenti, but it also gave us the iconic Danica Taylor.
Danica quickly became a Love Island fan favourite, and after some unfortunate recouplings, Jamie Allen looked like he could be the man to finally sweep her off her feet. Although the pair didn't steal the crown from Ekin-Su and Davide, Danica and Jamie did win everyone's hearts.

Jamie was a contestant on the eighth season of Love Island.
He entered the villa on day 45, just a couple of weeks before the end of Love Island 2022.

Jamie made a beeline for Danica and the pair quickly coupled up. Danica had had a rocky Love Island journey until Jamie got there, and he was the sixth boy Danica coupled up with.
Did Danica and Jamie win Love Island?
For a time, it did seem like Danica and Jamie could have walked away with the £50K prize. We know Jamie was a late bombshell, but that didn't stop Greg O'Shea from winning Love Island 2019 with Amber Gill even though he arrived in the villa days before the final.

Unfortunately they didn't follow in the footsteps as the series five winners and were booted from the villa shortly before the final.

On 29 August 2022, Allen signed for National League North club AFC Telford United. Before he entered the villa, he played for FC Halifax Town.
