Maura Higgins has revealed she’s had “experiences” with women in the past but insists she wants to settle down with a man – her boyfriend Chris Taylor, to be specific.

The Love Island star, who went public with Chris in November after months of speculation about their relationship, has opened up about dating women when she was younger.

She said, “I’ve experienced women, but I feel like growing up it’s good to experience things when you’re young.

“I don’t know if people question my sexuality. For me it’s definitely men — well I would say men, but it’s Chris.”

Now she’s with Chris, Maura says she’s “very much in love” and admits they “use the L-word a lot”.

Things are so serious between them that Maura is already thinking marriage and kids.

“I look into the future and see myself with a family. I don’t want a baby any time soon, but when I’m ready and settled.

“I want to be married before I have a baby, so Chris better hurry up and give me that engagement ring, because I’m not getting any younger,” she added to The Sun on Sunday.

Yewande Biala and George Rains were not even in the villa at the same time but outside they seem to be having a whale of a time. Fans were buzzing in August when the Casa Amor star appeared to have Yewande's makeup all over his face.

Maura and Chris became friends when they appeared on the 2019 series of Love Island, but their friendship blossomed into romance following her split from villa boyfriend Curtis Pritchard last March.

Although Curtis has admitted he feels “betrayed” by their relationship, Maura insists things only turned romantic with Chris when her relationship with Curtis was over.

She explained, “We were friends for ages before it ever turned into a relationship. We know each other very well, we never argue, we have such a laugh. It’s really good.”

Curtis is looking for love on the latest series of Celebs Go Dating, which starts tonight (25 January) on E4, and he’s revealed he broke down in tears while discussing his split from Maura on the show.

“I cried, because I hadn’t spoken to anybody about the Maura situation before,” he told The Sun.

“To talk openly and freely was a breath of fresh air. It was nice to be able to speak with people I felt safe talking about it with.”

He added, “I love the work I do, and I’m still young. I just feel it was also the same for Maura, and it just meant we went our separate ways.”
