Maura Higgins is thought to be single again following her shock split from Strictly Come Dancing pro Giovanni Pernice but it seems she won’t be on the market for too long as another Love Island star has already claimed the Irish reality star is their “girlfriend”.

The comments came from none other than Molly-Mae Hague who paid tribute to Maura after she shared a stunning snap from behind the scenes of a shoot for Ann Summers, which she captioned, “Ready for my close up 📸.”
Among the many Love Islanders flooding Maura with compliments was her BFF Molly, who wrote, “That’s my girlfriend.” Maura then responded to the flirty comment with, “and she loves you ❤️.”

Molly is believed to be supporting Maura in the wake of her split from Gio, which is said to have left her “devastated”.
The 2019 Islander was reportedly “blindsided” after the dancer ended their relationship just three months after they went Instagram official due to their busy schedules and lack of time together. According to reports, Giovanni told Maura he wasn’t ready to settle down.

A source told The Sun, “Gio is working 24/7 on Strictly and Maura is flying here, there and everywhere with modelling. Gio is also set to go on tour again next year when Strictly ends so their lifestyles just don’t fit with settling down at the moment.
“That’s why Gio decided to end things. They have crazy suitcase lives which makes it hard to be in a relationship. He adores Maura and had hoped they could remain friends - but that doesn’t look likely.”
