It’s safe to say that the TOWIE cast are no strangers to a bit of nip and tuck but one of it’s former stars, Megan McKenna, has revealed she’s removed her lip fillers after becoming ‘obsessed’ with making them bigger.
The reality TV veteran’s pout appeared to be plumper than ever when she was spotted outside the BBC Radio 2 studios earlier this year but fans began to speculate she had gotten rid of the enhancements back in September when she unveiled a more natural look on Instagram.
After saying goodbye to Essex and leaving TOWIE, Megan jetted off to Nashville to kickstart a career as a country singer and has revealed she decided to remove her lip fillers in order to be taken more seriously following a huge gig supporting Michael Buble at Hyde Park.
“Every headline the next day was about me and my big lips. I’d left my job on TOWIE to really smash this and so to have everything become about my lips was upsetting,” Megan told Fabulous magazine.
“I want people to be talking about my voice – I don’t want people looking at my lips.
“I think I realised I was never going to be taken seriously while I had fillers, so I decided they had to go. I had so much in there. I didn’t just have one lot of dissolvent, I had to have two!”

Although it took her a while to get used to her slimmed down lips, Megan has vowed to stay away from the filler, adding: “I was trying to mould myself into something I wasn’t. And now I think it looks ridiculous.
“I know I look better natural and I will never go down that route again. It’s just not nice.
“I’m mortified looking back at some of my old pictures. I spent three years pumping it in, pumping it in, thinking: ‘They’re not big enough, let’s get some more.’”

Megan is currently taking part in The X Factor: Celebrity, competing against the likes of Glee star Kevin McHale, The Chase’s Jenny Ryan and the Love Island super group of Wes Nelson, Samira Mighty, Zara McDermott and Eyal Booker.
The celebrity hopefuls will be leaving their comfort zones at the door as they head out to LA and battle it out to make it through the first stage. During the live shows they will then return to London and hopefully win a life changing record deal.
Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh have returned to the judging panel alongside head judge and music mogul Simon Cowell.
