When the then-Victoria Adams, aka Posh Spice, married a little-known footballer called David Beckham back in 1999, it was hard to imagine there would ever be a celebrity wedding to rival it. But, fast-forward 23 years, and with their eldest son Brooklyn preparing to marry his fiancée Nicola Peltz, we’re told Victoria Beckham is planning a huge do at the family’s Cotswolds home.
It will take place after the couple’s multi-million dollar nuptials in the US, where actress Nicola’s billionaire parents live.
“As mother of the groom, Vic has appointed herself Chief Wedding Adviser and wants the UK bash to be as big and star-studded as possible,” our Beckham insider says.
“Brooklyn and Nicola have always said they are doing a US wedding and a UK wedding with all the traditions of both countries, and all their family and friends are there for it. For them, it’s a ‘marriage of worlds’, too. Vic knows that at the American wedding, they’ll just be guests and that it’s the Peltz family who will be running the show. But when it comes to the British one, Posh knows she can outdo them in different ways.”

Inside Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz’s $10m starter home
Nicola’s dad Nelson is one of America’s richest men and is friends with some of the country’s most powerful people, including former presidents Donald Trump and George Bush. Our source says he’s told Nicola and Brooklyn that money is no object and it’s thought they will hold the ceremony in the grounds of their Miami estate. Although David and Victoria – who are also parents to Romeo, 19, Cruz, 16, and ten-year-old Harper – are multi-millionaires themselves, we’re told they know they can’t really compete on a money level. But they have a lot of history in hosting celeb-filled bashes and may even pull out the royalty card – something the Peltzes wouldn’t be able to do.
David, 46, and Victoria, 47, were invited to both Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding, and Kate and Wills will be top of the invite list.
“Although they aren’t exactly close friends, David and Victoria still get on well with Kate and Wills and would love for them to be at Brooklyn’s wedding,” our insider says. “Obviously, there are logistics about inviting royalty, but the family have great security, and while Brooklyn may not want all his parents’ friends there, both he and Nicola would be honoured if the future king and queen of Great Britain came to their wedding.”
Brooklyn, 22, proposed to Nicola, 26, last year, but their wedding has been pushed back because of the pandemic. But we’re told they’re desperate to get married soon, as they want to start a family, with rumours already flying that Nicola could be pregnant and that a baby will be here before they get hitched. And our source says Posh is readying herself to be Granny Spice.
“Brooklyn and Nicola want to be young parents,” our insider explains. “Nicola is really broody and Brooklyn can’t wait to be a dad. It’s quite scary for David and Vic – the thought of their baby having a baby – they still feel too young to be grandparents. But they know they will love it and are just excited for Brooklyn to settle down. They think Nicola is so good for him and want to show off their love to all their friends and family. It won’t be a wedding that disappoints.”
