Victoria and David Beckham reportedly secretly battled COVID-19 earlier this year after contracting the virus during a pre-lockdown trip to the US.

The pair flew to the States in March and attended a number of networking events as David launched his new football club Inter Miami before returning to the UK and celebrating eldest son Brooklyn’s 21st birthday with a huge bash attended by the likes of Emma Bunton and Stormzy.

The Beckhams allegedly later tested positive and feared they could be “super-spreaders” after several family members and staff members were then struck down with the illness.

“David started to feel ill and then Victoria developed a sore throat and high temperature. At the same time, several of their team including drivers, bodyguards and assistants fell ill — a couple of them very badly so,” a source close to the couple told The Sun.

“Victoria really panicked and made the whole family quarantine rigidly for more than two weeks. She was utterly petrified they might be super-spreaders, and did all she could to minimise all future risk.

“Not only was she poorly in bed, she was also completely panicked. It was a rough few weeks.”

The jammy buggers only went and got an invite to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding, didn't they?

It’s thought that Posh and Becks regularly checked in with their team after making a full recovery and even sent “care packages” to at least two staff members who were particularly badly affected by the virus.

David and Victoria spent lockdown holed up in their Cotswolds mansion – complete with a swimming pool, sauna and tennis courts – with their three younger children, Romeo, 18, Cruz, 15, and nine-year-old Harper, while Brooklyn quarantined in America with his now-fiancée Nicola Peltz.

Love Island star tests positive for coronavirus

Since making a recovery, they’ve had swab and anti-body tests to make sure they were safe to travel before holidaying in Italy.

The Beckhams then travelled to Greece – together with Victoria’s parents, sister and her children – for what was a particularly emotional trip for Posh.

“Victoria feels like she’s making up for some lost time – and lost holidays – with this one last trip of the summer to Greece,” an insider close to the Beckhams told heat.

“She wanted all her close family on the holiday, because she’s feeling nostalgic and is already anxious about the change coming her way. This time next year, Brooklyn will be married, living in America and probably starting his own family. And the kids are all growing up so fast, so she saw this as the last time to really bring them all together, like this, just as they are. Money was no issue and they spent around £500,000 on a private jet for everyone, a top-of-the-range villa, new outfits and meals out. But it was worth it.”
