Hiya babs, how was your bank holiday weekend?

Wait, no time for your answer - we need to tell you about ours, because we spent our bank holiday weekend with none other than The Traitors legend Diane Carson.

Whoever said not to meet your heroes has clearly never met Diane, and we feel sorry for them.

heatworld ended up chinwagging to the fizzy rosé connoisseur for over two hours over a couple of oat milk lattes – btw, we were fully ready to drink fizzy rose at 10am in the morning with this cultural icon, but alas, that didn't transpire – discussing everything from her 2025 stage debut to her upcoming panto gig, to her current stint on Celebrity Masterchef.

Then naturally, after a decent chunk of time with such a telly icon, we had to get all heatworld and cheeky and grill her about future telly plans.

Since we last chatted to Diane, ITV has confirmed that Celebrity Big Brother will be returning to our screens in early (ish) 2025 – following a successful relaunch earlier this year involving Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu – and knowing that Diane was once a huge Big Brother fan (cause we're bezzie mates now), we simply had to ask arguably one of 2024's biggest TV stars whether she would ever take part in the celebrity version of the reboot.

Because let's face it, the inevitable Traitors-themed shopping challenge that would transpire would be beyond iconic and Diane's nominations would be the stuff of legend.

Alas, as much as Diane is partial to a spot of Big Brother on her telly screen, she has no interest in taking part in the series as a celebrity housemate anytime soon.

She exclusively shared her reasons with heatworld, saying, "Would I do Celebrity Big Brother? No. Sadly, because I think that occasionally some of these TV programmes put in big egos and I don't think that's what makes good reality TV.

"I think good reality TV is just with ordinary people, so I don't think I could cope with the egos that might be involved. And also it's 24 hours a day for however many weeks, so I don't think I could do Big Brother."

She's right though, Diane is used to her own turret room in a Scottish castle when filming – even Sharon Osbourne didn't get one of those.

Okay, so not the response we wanted from The Traitors queen, but definitely the Diane shade/honesty we came for.

So which TV path is Diane considering strolling down next? Well, being the LGBTQ+ icon she is, we simply had to ask whether she had ever been approached about being a guest judge on RuPaul's Drag Race UK, and whether she'd ever consider it, to which Diane responded, "I have never been approached about being a guest judge on RuPaul's Drag Race UK, but of course I would do it – what a lot of fun."

Queen. With Queens. Somebody make this happen.

When he's not getting paid to gossip about Big Brother, Love Island, and The Real Housewives of Cheshire, he's storming the London LGBTQ+ scene as drag queen, Beary Poppins. Both Ben and Beary are awaiting an invite to join The Real Housewives of Cheshire for series 18. The budget's not there, but the drama is 💅
