If you think we're done with Love Island just because its finished filming, think again. Our final few couples are busy acclimatising to a world outside of the villa – including the world of showbiz and influencers. So, naturally, heat has jumped on the bandwagon and invited them round our boujie London office (Olivia Attwood, Pete Wicks and Sam Thompson record their podcasts in the building and everything) for an iced coffee, an interview and to film some TikToks. Modern journalism.
Now is the prime time for Love Island 2024 finalists spilling piping hot tea on the show, the villa, and each other, and you can bet your bottom dollar (we just watched Annie) heat is there with a mop.
Just last week we had Jess Spencer and Ayo Odukoya, Nicole Samuel and Ciaran Davies, and winners Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan in the office, and we have to say, the best thing about interviewing Islanders as couples is they're not afraid to spill the tea on each other/expose their other half's dirty laundry.
Take finalists Jess and Ayo for example; it took six minutes for Jess to spill the beans on the one thing Ayo kept getting told off for in the villa, and we had absolutely no clue, and we wouldn't have if it weren't for the mild lovers' tiff that broke out minutes into our exclusive chinwag.
When we asked the couple – who finished in fourth place – whether they had learned anything new about each other in the two weeks they've been out of the villa, Jess went straight in mumbling, "Our timing is not very good. He has poor timing."
Which sparked the following cute af tiff...
"Your timing is bad," said Ayo.
"Your timing is awful," replied Jess.
"It's better than yours," interjected Ayo.
Jess then explained, "He just leaves things to the last minute and then he has to rush around. I thought he was bad in the villa."
She then revealed that Ayo actually got "told off" in the villa for taking too long to get ready, adding, "He always got told off in the villa, but yeah, it's even worse now that we're out."
Ayo, naturally, took a breath and went on to defend himself (this really was the cutest fight ever btw), "I was just getting ready. I've got to look alright."
And that you do, Ayo. That you do 🔥
He then proceeded to talk us through his 'getting ready' routine' explaining, "I shower for like at least 15 [minutes], but I'm scrubbing myself. Most men walk into the shower and get out, that's not my flex. I'm in there cleaning my whole body from head to toe and creaming myself, creaming the face, making sure all the oils and lotions are set. Come on, health is wealth."
Anyone else in need of a 15-minute (cold) shower after reading that?
For the record, Jess and Ayo are easily the most adorable Love Island 2024 couple heat has met this summer (and we have to say, they're all giving cute); from lap sitting, to whispering, to looks that melt even our icy hearts - it's giving love.
So bore off, haters.
