When the Love Island lot leave the villa, they’re immediately sent on a press and podcast tour to chat about their time on the show and spill some behind the scenes secrets.
This week, it was Love Island 2024 OG Jess White and Casa Amor bombshell Hugo Godfroy doing the rounds after their savage dumping and they did not hold back. As if we ever expected anything less from Jess.
Given that they met in Casa, we had to ask Jess and Hugo what it was like going back to the main villa for the recoupling and she exposed why the girls got told off “like naughty school kids” just before returning to the boys.
“You won’t know, but we get put in a holding villa while you’re waiting to go into the main villa again and we were all there for hours, weren’t we? We were all just going insane,” Jess said, while looking at Hugo.
She continued, “I remember all of us girls were having a party and we were all dancing, and I remember one of the production team was like, ‘Girls, this is a very serious event. You should not be having this much fun, like you’ve got a very big decision to make’ and then we all just sat there like naughty school kids, like we’d just been told off.
“We were having the best time ever waiting to go back in from Casa Amor. Well, I was because I had nothing really to be worried for.”
Sorry, but we’re obsessed with the girls having the time of their lives before the most dramatic recoupling of the series. ICONS, all of them.
During their time at heat Towers, Jess and Hugo also lifted the lid on which Islander is being a “showman” for the cameras – and there’s no surprises here, it’s Joey Essex.
Jess explained, “He likes pushing everyone's buttons, though. Joey's a showman. He's the best showman ever. He knows what he's doing. We're making a TV show at the end of the day. He's providing great TV entertainment when he does this.
“I wouldn't necessarily say it's just with Grace; Grace has just got to rise to it and bite back, so it probably just comes across that way, but Joey was doing that with everybody in the villa. He would always like to stir the pot a bit and then be like, 'Sorry about that'."
