Love Island 2022 IT GIRL Indiyah Polack always understands the assignment. The reality TV star turned presenter has just revealed her new look and in doing so has become one of only three people in the entire world who can make a mullet look marginally cool. The other two are David Bowie in Labrinyth and Dacre Montgomery as Billy in Stranger Things, FYI. Not up for discussion.
Indiyah is currently holidaying in Japan with her LI boyfriend Dami Hope and is constantly updating her followers on her travels, which is fab for us as it's April now and we're in desperate need of some Indiyah summer style inspo.
The fashion queen shared a collection of pics on her Instagram, all featuring her "work of art" face and a new mullet hair cut which has left Indiyah's friends and followers fawning over the 80's inspired look.
One follower commented, "mullets were made for you" with podcaster and TikTok star Max Balegde writing, "You truly are such a slay."
A surprise comparison comes from X-Factor twins Jedward who seemed to declare Indiyah an honorary member of the duo, "We can feel the Jepic energy."
There literally isn't a style, a colour or cut that the beauty icon doesn't suit. Known for her trademark "skunk stripe" hair, since leaving the villa, Indiyah has dabbled in countless different looks. She recently went for a candy floss pink wig and also rocked a copper shade when she attended the MOBO awards back in November.
Before the event last autumn, Indiyah teased the new hair colour on her TikTok and fans flooded the comments section with ideas on what they thought she could be doing to liven up her locks.
One fan commented, "She’s in her copper era finally," with another declaring "Copper era yerrr."
Most of her followers were correct, as Indiyah had ditched her signature black and white combo for a stunning shade of red.
Wearing a stunning full length black gown with diamanté detailing, Indiyah's red hair was curled and styled in a 90s up do as she walked the red carpet for the awards bash.
Once the hair transformation was complete, Indiyah posted another TikTok of her dressed down with a greyscale filter that transitioned into the reality TV star glammed up and ready to head out.
Indiyah's followers adored the makeup look and new hair, complimenting her awards-ready ensemble and declaring their general love for the ex-Islander.
One praised, "She's definitely the IT GIRL 😍😍❤️ she’s too leng man 🥰🥰😍 our queen!!"
Another added, "Yesss the hair… the dress.. the face…whole look fire 🔥 😍."
In case you couldn't tell we're all a teeny tiny bit obsessed with Indiyah. How can you not love this goddess of a woman, who graced our screens during season eight of Love Island?
Eventually coupling up with Irish-although-we-are-still-trying-to-work-out-his-accent, Dami, they rode the Damiyah train all the way to the final, coming in third place.
Not only was Indiyah an energetic, loving presence within the villa, but good golly, did she serve the looks? We've already obsessed over her best outfits during the series, so now we turn our attention from clothes to beauty.
What impressed viewers at home was Indiyah's ability to lay down her edges SO smoothly, but what does she use to keep them sleek, with an all-day hold?
Indiyah revealed her secrets on how she went about laying down her edges during a recent Instagram Q&A, where she was asked "what gels do you recommend?", to which Indiyah replied with her picks, stating "[these are the] products that helped me keep my hair as laid as possible - especially in the heat."
So, what are Indiyah's six holy grail products to lay down hair, achieving her iconic slicked-back look? Drum roll, please...

How to lay down your edges in heat and humid weather
Deputy Commercial Content Editor, Natalie Corner, has got the goss on doing her edges when the sun is out.
She says, "When I want a sleek finished look to a slicked back bun or up do, doing my edges can really make or break a look. I like to leave some of my baby hair free once I’ve figured out what hairstyle I’m doing, then using some strong hold gel, like the one from Tracee Ellis Ross’ new Pattern collection, or even something like ORS Olive Oil Edge Control.
"I pick up my edge tool (either Pattern’s tool or a spare toothbrush!) and create some little swirls around my forehead. To make sure they are set and don’t mov,e I pick up a satin wrap headband and fasten it around my head, either leave it while I apply my make-up or give it a quick blast with a hairdryer to complete the look."
