We've interviewed a fair few dumped Islanders from Love Island this summer and we have to say, the vast majority have exceeded our expectations. Seriously, we were scared some of the boys would just grunt answers at us, but we have to say, casting really done good this year. What a bunch of gems.
While each Love Island 2024 interview has been joyous in its own way, meeting OG Jess White this week has been one of the highlights for us.
As journos we can always sniff out a good interviewee, and within a few episodes, we just knew outspoken and forthright Love Island queen Jess was going to give us that piping hot tea we crave when we finally pulled her for chat – and we were right, it's safe to say our Jess doesn't mince her words, and an open guest editor position at heat is waiting for her as and when she wants it. Imagine.
During our 20-minute chinwag, Jess covered everything from Joey Essex to Harriett Blackmore x Ronnie Vint. We expected all that stuff; what we didn't expect is her casually dropping the name of an Islander she was really close to in the villa that we swear we never saw her talking to that much on the show.
Yep, according to Jess, in addition to being good friends with the likes of Nicole Samuel and Mimii Ngulube, she was really good friends with bombshell Omar Nyame inside the villa and they've already met a couple of times now that they're both back home.
Now we love both Jess and Omar, so we were a little taken aback by this admission. We genuinely can't remember them having any deep chats. To be fair, it's been six weeks now, and thanks to TikTok, our attention isn't what it was a couple of years ago...
Jess spilled the tea when we asked her and her kinda villa boyf Hugo Godfroy which dumped Islanders they'd caught up with IRL over the last few days.
Hugo replied, "We've seen Wil [Anderson] and Uma [Jammeh] since leaving the villa. We've been out with them a couple of times. We love them to pieces."
Jess then revealed, "We've seen Omar. Me and Omar are really good friends. Omar and [Hugo] met on Sunday night. We went out after Aftersun."
Speaking to Hugo, she continued, "You met and got on really well, which is good because me and Omar are really good friends."
ARE YOU? We love to see it, but, erm, we didn't...
Actually, that's a lie; to be fair they were in a friendship couple for a hot sec in the first two or three weeks.
WATCH: Joey Essex almost picked Jess?!
