UPDATE: The account was fake and had us all bloomin' fooled. GAH.
After the massive kick off following last year's Casa Amor drama (featuring Georgia 'Loyal babes' Steel and Josh Denzel), we didn't think anything would be able to top it, but the latest Love Island recoupling was one of the most dramatic in the show's history.
Despite Curtis Pritchard choosing to recouple with Amy Hart, Michael Griffiths had his head well and truly turned, coupling up with new girl Joanna Chimonides, and in turn leaving poor Amber Gill to walk back into the villa on her own.
As the nation watched on in UTTER shock, waiting for Amber's response, Michael's 'friends and family' released a statement on Twitter.
Sharing a 'logging out' meme, the first message read, 'Right everyone, see you in a few weeks, it’s been fun.' They then shared another meme of a male throwing away money, writing, 'Throwing away £50k like:'. [sic]
However, despite initially making fun of the situation, the 'family and friends' then decided to back Michael's decision, writing, 'Some thoughts: Like it or not, Michael followed his heart, he confronted Amber several times for being childish. It wasn’t behind her back.
'Anna needs to mind her own business #bye. From now, Curtis giving advice is about as useful as Stevie Wonder taking an eye test'. [sic]
HOWEVER, it has now been revealed that the account shown above is in fact a fake account that has generated more followers than Michael's real Twitter.
As Tuesday night's episode finished just as Amber arrived into the villa, viewers are counting down the minutes until tonight's episode, which looks to be the most explosive of the series so far.
In the preview for tonight's show, things kick off between Anna Vakili and Michael, following the fireman's decision to leave Amber single. And, as if that wasn't enough, Curtis tells Amy the thoughts he was having whilst she was over at Casa Amor!
