In heat Towers we've been debating which season of Love Island is in our top three and surprisingly series 12 is definitely up there.
From Toni Laites being the first USA bombshell (and an iconic one at that), Harry Cooksley causing absolute mayhem and Cach Mirjah Mercer being a total sweetheart - the Love Island 2025 Islanders have kept us entertained.
Other than Kyle Ashman being axed before the show even began, there hasn't been that many scandals from this season. One thing that did shock us though was Casa Amor's Ty Isherwood and Lauren Wood knowing each other before the villa - from the Love Island dry run.

Not sure what the dry run is? Well, it's basically where the producers get a bunch of randoms into the main villa for a few days so they can have a practice run of what filming for the series will actually be like. Love Island 2022's Summer Botwe also took part in the dry run during series seven and she bagged herself a spot for Casa Amor.
Anyway, Lauren and Ty knowing each other from the dry run was quite the scandal because neither of them spoke about it on the show but now that the series has ended, Ty has finally revealed what really went down.
'I got asked to do the dry run. Basically they need a practice run, so I went in for two days and they just did certain scenarios that happened in the villa,' he explained to Jessie Wynter and Will Young on their podcast.

'So I stayed in the actual villa. There were 12 other people in it and coming out [of the dry run], I was told not to say anything.'
When Will asked about the scenarios they'd put the contestants in during the dry run, Ty explained, 'It would literally be as if I'd just walked in [the villa]. So everything would play out the exact same way.
'When they actually called me [about the dry run] and I thought, "Is this real?" You're kind of showing yourself off in a way. It seems like an audition as you're pulling people for chats, we did a challenge.'
Ty went on to reveal that he got paid the 'standard rate' for the run dry run, and even admitted he was surprised that he bagged himself a role on the real show.

'I had no expectations to be honest. I just thought, why not? I'll do it. Got the green light off my employer.
'Obviously coming off if I thought there's no chance but then they must have like me because they sent me in.
'We got told not to say anything. So when I saw her walk in, I did know her because we did that experience together but we got told not to say anything so I wasn't actually supposed to say that I knew her.'

He added, 'I didn't know her really well, we just did that experience together. It's weird to pretend you don't know someone when you do.
'I didn't know that two people could be drafted for the show, I was surprised myself.'
Well, it turned out pretty well for Ty we doubt he'll be returning to his pre villa job as a site engineer any time soon now that he has 144k Instagram followers.
