Made in Chelsea is known for its tearful break-ups, dramatic dinner parties, and above all, arguments. Tristan Phipps has been involved in all three, with his three year relationship and subsequent break-up with MIC royalty, Liv Bentley providing a lot of drama for past couple of seasons. The latest seasons have also focused on his relationships with Yasmine Zweegers and Lauren Sintès, neither of which ending particularly amicably.

But it hasn’t been all romance for Tristan, he’s had quite a few on-screen arguments during his time on the show, especially in the latest series. Over the years, he has butted heads with a few of his fellow cast members, but one in particular rubbed him the wrong way.

Tristan Phipps and Sam Vanderpump - of the Bravo Vanderpumps, of course - came to blows last season when both of them were interested in Chelsea newbie, Julia Pollard also known as, believe it or not, Muffin.

In the finale, Tristan made it known that he felt Sam only began dating Julia to one-up him which led Sam to ask, “Is you ego really that big?”

Tristan then toasted to the next series and to “forgetting things that need to be forgotten, and people.”

Clearly, the pair aren’t going to be friends anytime soon, but that didn’t stop us asking him about it when we got the chance to sit down with Tristan to discuss his upcoming stint on Celebs Go Dating.

While we wanted to know all about Tristan and Sam’s tiff, we also needed to know where he stands with Julia.

“I think life is short, that’s one of the lessons I learnt in [Celebs Go Dating] as well, you know there’s no point in having this unnecessary agg, you know, I’m not here to have animosity with people so we’re in a good place, it’s nice.” It’s giving dalai lama, we respect it.

So, is it the same for him and Sam? It turns out, not at all.

“I couldn’t possibly say on that one. I think our differences are very polarising and that’ll probably be a long-term thing.”

Chris Taylor chimed in with a “stop being nice!” and Tristan jokingly laughed, “He’s a knob.”

Whether you’re team Tristan or team Sam, every Made in Chelsea fan should undoubtedly be tuning in to watch Tristan on Celebs Go Dating.

Celebs Go Dating launches on Monday 19 August at 9pm on E4.
