The latest series of Married At First Sight UK has certainly been delivering the drama, hasn’t it?
We didn’t think things could get any more explosive after Eve Reid and Charlie Curtis quit the show and Richelle Cade and Orson Nurse clashed over his cheating ex, but then producers went and introduced the intruder brides and grooms and it kicked off even more.
One of the MAFS UK 2024 intruder brides was Amy Kenyon, a wedding planner from Blackburn, and she hit the headlines before she’d even been announced by show bosses as it was reported that she’d previously dated MAFS UK 2023 groom Arthur Poremba.
Arthur was paired with Laura Jayne Vaughan on last year’s MAFS UK and caused a stir when he told her that he loved her the first time they met before revealing that he’d taken his wedding speech from Google. Things didn’t work out between Arthur and Laura, although they’ve remained friends.
It was claimed that Amy and Arthur had been romantically involved before she ‘disappeared’ to film MAFS. A source told The Sun, ‘Amy and Arthur had been messaging each other for a little while.
‘She then disappeared for three months to go on the show and then all of a sudden reappeared one day and he went “where the f**k did you go?” She said she couldn’t tell him so he asked her if she’d been on Married At First Sight and she confirmed she had.’
The source also revealed that Amy and Arthur met up after she returned home from filming, but their potential romance didn’t go anywhere. They explained, “They ended up meeting up and going to a rave together after that, but didn’t get on romantically so decided not to pursue things.”
Despite the reports, a representative for Amy denied that she dated Arthur.
Now, Arthur has revealed what really happened with Amy, explaining that their relationship was a 'one night thing'.
He said, 'It was a one-night-only thing. We had been talking for a while and then after she went quiet for three months.'
Arthur told The Sun, 'I didn’t have a clue she was going on the show. She didn’t say and we didn’t talk about MAFS, which was one of the things I liked about her.'
