We might have another year until the new series of Married At First Sight begins but it seems fans are still annoyed over series eight.
To be fair, a lot of drama went down. We had Hannah Noburn vs the girls, Holly Ditchfield and Alex Henry bickering at every event and even Polly Sellman and Adam Nightingale's explosive row at the final dinner party went a little too far.
However some cast members who have consistently received a lot of backlash from the very first week are the experts – Paul C Brunson, Mel Schilling and Charlene Douglas.
Don’t believe us?
Well, Paul has spoken out amid a lot of the backlash and revealed why their advice can sometimes come across a little odd.
Cast your mind back to the first few weeks of the experiment and you’ll probably remember that Eve Reid and Charlie Curtis' relationship was the talk of the series.
They were constantly arguing, there were literal tears on their honeymoon and Polly even branded Charlie a ‘bully’ after defending her pal Eve.
At the time the experts gave their advice to Eve and Charlie but fans were not impressed. One viewer slammed the experts and tweeted, ‘Experts need to stop this nonsense pretending they don’t see any footage and start outing people like Eve to the group #MAFSUK.’
It was at this point that Paul gave some clarity of their advice when he responded and said, ‘For the record, we don’t see any footage.
‘This is what makes it so challenging for us. We only see what happens at the dinner parties and commitment ceremonies. Everything else we see for the first time with you when the show airs. #MAFSUK.’
Well, that’s interesting.
Fans seem to think so too as one person said, ‘You surely need to be watching it to be able to deal with people’s questionable behaviour? Look what people are getting away with.’
Another commented, ‘Well…that’s interesting!! Maybe producers need to relay more.’
One more added, ‘Cool, time to message Ofcom.’
Paul recently spoke to us and revealed that the experts spend over an hour with the cast members but due to editing, viewers don't get to see the entire conversation.
'The commitment ceremony, we film for 12 to 14 hours and every couple sits on the couch between 60 and 90 minutes,' he exclusively told us.
'You see the most extreme parts and I think that's something to be aware of.'
