We’re not sure what it is, but there’s something about the Aussie version of the show that’s messier and more chaotic than anything else we’ve ever watched and, honestly, we’re obsessed with it.
From accusations Jack Dunkley had a girlfriend before the show to Collins Christian’s controversial behaviour, there hasn’t been a dull moment yet. Another big talking point was Sara Mesa refusing to take part in the phone swap challenge during Confessions Week.
The couples were challenged by the relationship experts to swap phones with their partners to cement trust between them, however Sara flat out refused to hand hers over to her husband Tim Calwell.
It’s now been revealed that Sara was messaging another MAFS groom, so could that be why she didn’t want Tim to see her phone? That would be WILD if so.
The groom that Sara was messaging was none other than season ten cast member Ollie Skelton and to make it even more awkward, he was still in a relationship with Tahnee Cook at the time.
Speaking about the phone swap debacle, Tahnee said, “I know I wouldn’t love someone going through my phone just because I have embarrassing stuff that I wouldn’t want to explain, so I can understand.
“So I can understand why with someone you’ve just met, like do you want to be sharing all that stuff in there, but I know Sara was messaging Ollie and she wasn’t saying the nicest things about Tim.
“Maybe she actually didn’t want certain stuff to be shown because obviously he’s going to have his insecurities about why, because at the end of the day if someone really wants to go through it, let them go through it, if you don’t have nothing to hide.”
During her appearance on the Behind the Edit podcast, Tahnee went on to explain that although Ollie did mention that Sara reached out to him, he never showed her the messages.
Tahnee continued, “I remember Ollie mentioning this to me when we were together and I was like, ‘Oh that’s a bit weird and then we just… we forgot about it, and then I was like ‘Oh it’s that couple’. She didn’t really have the nicest things to say, so then watching it now it’s interesting.
“I think she had reached out after listening to his podcast, you know, a couple people reach out asking for advice and stuff. He didn’t show me the messages which is interesting but anyway we’ll leave that!”
