Following their big win at last night’s BRIT Awards when they became the first ever female act to win Best British Group, Little Mix thanked their former member Jesy Nelson in their acceptance speech six months after she quit the band.
She’s now spoken out about the historic moment for the first time and proved there’s no bad blood between her and Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock as she took to Instagram to celebrate the band’s win.
Jesy, who is currently in the studio working on solo music, shared a snap of her former bandmates posing with their award and added a series of love hearts and clapping emojis.
Little Mix gave Jesy a shoutout in their heartfelt speech as they opened up about being female in the music industry.
Leigh-Anne said, “We have been together for ten years. They have been the best years of our lives. We have all gone through so much. We've had so much fun, we've made so many beautiful memories. We want to start by thanking our incredible fans, of course Jesy, and our amazing team.
“It's not easy being a female in the UK pop industry. We've seen a white male dominance, misogyny, sexism, and lack of diversity. We are so proud of how we have stuck together, stood our ground, surrounded ourselves with strong women, and we are now using our voices more than ever."

Little Mix: what 2021 has in store for them now they're a trio
Little Mix’s ground-breaking win comes after Jesy revealed the “breaking point” moment that led her to quit the band back in December.
“I’d been in lockdown, and I’d put on a bit of weight but I didn’t care. And they said, 'You’ve got a music video in a couple of weeks' and I just panicked. I went on this extreme diet, with bloody shakes, and tried to eat as little as possible. On the day of the Sweet Melody video I had a panic attack on set because I didn’t look how I wanted to look and I found it so hard to just be happy and enjoy myself,” she told Cosmopolitan.
Jesy added, “Someone really close to me said, 'this has got to stop',” after she spent time “sobbing in the dressing room”.
“For so long I worried about other people and letting people down. The only person I should have been trying to make happy was myself and I wasn’t doing that. I needed to do it for my mental health,” she continued.
