Love Island star Liam Reardon’s tattoos: who are the giant portraits of?

Cast your minds back a few months ago when Love Island was on our screens and amid Faye Winter’s kickoffs and Toby Aromolaran’s love square with Chloe Burrows, Abigail Rawlings and Mary Bedford, viewers had loads of questions about eventual winner Liam Reardon’s impressive ink collection.

The 22 year old is covered in tattoos, but it was the series of celebrity portraits on his right thigh that got tongues wagging and fans tried to work out who they were.

“Just clocked Liam’s thigh tattoo WHAT/WHO is that,” tweeted one at the time, while another wrote, “I need a picture of Liam’s leg tattoo IMMEDIATELY bc I looked away for a second and all I saw was a gigantic top hat.”

Well, Liam’s only gone and added another famous face to his tattoo collection since leaving the villa and we’re kinda obsessed. So, what exactly are Liam’s tattoos and what is the significance behind them? We’ve done some digging…

Who is tattooed on Liam’s leg?

Liam has two portraits tattooed on his right thigh – one of Frank Sinatra and another of Muhammed Ali. According to his tattoo artist Lucy Turner of Lucy Lou’s Tattoos, Liam had their faces inked on his leg as he’s massive fans of both iconic stars.

The tribute to the boxer was Liam’s first ever tattoo and took a whopping 12 hours to complete. “It was his first tattoo and he sat amazing both times. I convinced him to go quite big with the tattoo just because he's so tall. Anything smaller just wouldn't have looked right,” Lucy explained.

But the former bricklayer didn't stop there and has recently added to his collection with an inking of Welsh singer Sir Tom Jones, Liam's idol and fellow ITV co-star, on his calf.

“He wants to have a full leg of portraits of celebrities he considers icons. We have spoke about doing Tom Jones and maybe Aretha Franklin too. He's said that his love for older musicians comes from his father,” Lucy told The Daily Star earlier this year.

Liam’s currently back home in his native Merthyr and paid another visit to Lucy Lou’s Tattoos, where they got started on his tattoo of Sir Tom. Taking to his Instagram story, Liam showed off the artwork and wrote, “I'm back in the chair with the magician that is Luce.

“Made a good start at today's sitting. Another one and we're finished then on to the next.”

Of course, Liam latest tattoo won’t come as a surprise to Love Island fans after he sang a cover of Tom’s song It’s Not Unusual during the talent show back in the summer.

What other tattoos does Liam have?

As well as the portraits on his leg, Liam has the phrase ‘don’t count the days, make the days count’ tattooed on his right arm.

He also has a star on his back, a bird on his arm and Roman numerals which appear to spell out the year he was born (1999, FYI) on his chest. Last, but by no means least, Liam’s most risqué tattoo is a cookie which has been inked on his bum.

In other Love Island news, dumped Islanders Brad McClelland and Sharon Gaffka recently revealed the shock reason Liam was TOLD OFF by producers... and no, it wasn't for how he treated Millie during Casa Amor.

Instead, Liam incurred the wrath of producers for his choice of clothing as contestants aren't allowed to wear a certain style while they're on camera.

"You're not even allowed patterned tops," Brad explained to Closer.

Sharon then revealed, "Don't you feel like every time Liam got dressed he was told to take what he was wearing off? Because of the patterns..."

"I don't think he got to wear any of his new t-shirts because of the patterns," Brad added.
