It’s come to light that a lot (and we mean A LOT) of the Married At First Sight UK cast had showbiz connections before appearing on the show, with the likes of Morag Chrichton and Joshua Christie already having TV appearances under their belt, while Daniel McKee has an A-list pal, but nothing has quite shocked us like the latest revelation about another star of the show.

It turns out Alexis Economou – who recently made a shock return in a couple with Ant Poole following the breakdown of her marriage to Jordon Mundell – appeared on Britain’s Got Talent back in 2014 as part of band called REAformed.

Who even knew she could sing?

Alexis, who was 21 at the time, and her bandmates Renetta Eagle, then 18, and Ebony Cantwell, then 15, sang I’ve Got The Music in Me by The Kiki Dee Band during their audition and it went down so well that Alesha Dixon chose the group as her Golden Buzzer act.

“I will support you the whole way,” Alesha said at the time, as she walked on stage to hug the trio.

She added, “Well I started out in girl group and I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for Mis-Teeq, so that’s what I saw when I saw in those girls. And that’s why I want to support you the whole way.”

Lauren Huntriss and Matthew Bennett

One of the biggest storylines this season was about Matthew and his virginity, as he was repeatedly labelled as 'virgin'/'ex-virgin' Matt by the narrator. Anyway, Matthew was matched with Lauren - who, yes, he lost his virginity to - but it all went horribly wrong when Lauren heard Matthew telling the other guys at dinner that he wasn't sexually attracted to Lauren. AWKWARD. Lauren is still a make-up artist, we don't know if she's dating anyone. But on the other hand, self-confessed fitness enthusiast Matthew is loved up with a new girlfriend - who he met at a wrestling tryout.

Mike and Heidi's relationship was one which could have gone either way, but after the show, the pair split - announcing the sad news at the post-finale reunion special. 'Right after the final vows, Heidi and I went back to the Gold Coast together but it didn't take long and the wheels started coming off,' Mike explained. Heidi has said she hasn't spoken to her former husband since. From the looks of their Instagram pages, they still look single.

Cam Merchant and Jules Robinson

Oh, Cameron and Jules. From the minute Jules and Cam had their first wedding dance without any music, we had an inkling they were in it for the long haul. And we were right! The pair now have a baby together, who was born in October last year, and tied the knot properly after the show. So, yes - sometimes this wild experiment does work.

Melissa Lucarelli and Dino Hira

Probably the worst matched couple on the series, it isn't shock the pair called it quits on the show after Dino allegedly recorded a conversation Melissa was having with her sister about the wedding day. It appears both are still single.

Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli

Ines Basic and Bronson Norrish

We knew this relationship wasn't going to last from the moment Ines asked Bronson to take out his eyebrow ring. Bronson is now a lot happier with girlfriend Hayley Wallis. And from her Instagram, Ines looks to be single at the moment.

Sadly, REAformed only made it as far at the semi-finals, where they performed End of Time by Beyoncé.

The band didn’t receive enough public votes to continue on to the grand final and finished the semi-final in sixth place.

It appears that was the end of their time as a group too as Alexis’ bandmates Renetta and Ebony auditioned for The X Factor the following year in a brand new group called PYT.

MAFS: Jordon Mundell breaks silence on claims he was dating ex during show

Alexis’ Married At First Sight journey began when she met husband Jordon Mundell for the first time as they walked down the aisle. However, they didn’t get off to the best start when Alexis admitted Jordon wasn’t opening up as much as she would like and things went from bad to worse on their honeymoon when they had a furious row.

The couple chose to exit the experiment at the first commitment ceremony but Alexis later returned in a couple with Ant Poole, whose wife Nikita Jasmine was sensationally axed from the show.

Although they initially sparked a connection, it seems their bond isn’t as strong as they first thought and Ant recently admitted he doesn’t fancy Alexis.
