Strictly Come Dancing bosses ended their rumoured reality TV star ‘ban’ last year when they snapped up Made in Chelsea’s Jamie Laing to appear on the show (before he was forced to pull out with an injury, that is) and now it’s been reported that they’re “in talks” to sign up a Love Island star for the first time ever.
While it would be incredible to see one of the former contestants on the show (we bet Siânnise Fudge would smash it), it’s actually the show’s narrator and all-round funny man Iain Stirling who’s said to be on the Beeb’s wish list.
“Iain’s had a few talks with the show and the ball is in his court,” a TV insider told The Sun.
"It's early days but bosses are really keen to get him on the dancefloor - he's a great name who would be popular with the audience.
"There was some talk about whether he had a golden handcuffs deal with ITV which could scupper things but if not, he'd be a real catch for the show."

If Iain did sign up for Strictly, he would be following in the footsteps of girlfriend – and rumoured fiancée – Laura Whitmore, who took part in the show in 2018 before she began presenting the ITV2 dating show.
Like many celebs, Iain and Laura have taken to TikTok to keep them entertained during lockdown and regularly impress fans with their couples dance routines so we think he’d fit right in on the Strictly dancefloor.
Iain would have plenty of time to focus on training too as it’s been confirmed that Love Island won’t be returning to our screens until summer 2021.

Following the cancellation of this year’s summer series, ITV announced that the winter 2021 series was also being scrapped.
An ITV spokeperson said, “Love Island UK will return bigger and better than ever with an extended run in summer 2021."
"ITV want Love Island to be a huge success so have decided to put all their energy into making next summer’s series a bumper run, and not trying to force a Winter version given the uncertainty in the television industry still at this point,” a source told The Sun.
"January 2021 seems a long way off but the process would be starting imminently and with certain restrictions still in place they don’t want to approach anything half-baked."
