Leave-in conditioners can be lifesaving for those with dry hair types, and the one I use? Revlon UniqOne Hair Treatment. After seeing that it had over 50,000 glowing reviews on Amazon, that it's used by celebrities and salons everywhere and claims to have 10 unique benefits for your hair? Well, I just had to give it a go. Here's my honest Revlon UniqOne Hair Treatment review.
I've mentioned many times that my hair is of the wavy type. See, moisture can struggle to travel down the curl pattern, often leaving wavy and curly-haired people more prone to frizz. It's not just wavy-haired babes either, those who bleach or colour their hair may be prone to dehydrated strands. That's where a leave-in conditioner comes in - much like the Revlon UniqOne Hair Treatment.
(Psst... it's now only £7.29, reduced from £18.30 on Amazon for Black Friday. That's a whopping 60% off!)
The renowned treatment is a favourite of Love Island's Chloe Burrows, who said on the bestselling hair product, "Best hair product I have ever used. I bought it after my hairdresser recommended it, let me just say this stuff is truly amazing. Magic stuff. I have been using this product for two years now. This product makes my hair feel like silk and it also protects from heat when blow-drying. A must for dyed hair."
The formula was supposedly the first of its kind to launch into the professional haircare market with 10 benefits. It seeks to repair and strengthen dry hair while boosting shine, reducing breakage, controlling frizz, among many, many others. Reviewers on Amazon even claim it's 'an absolute treasure'.

But what did I think of the Revlon UniqOne Hair Treatment? Read my review for my honest thoughts.
My honest thoughts
Whenever I go out, I'm usually in a rush to do my hair. I spend all of my time on makeup that hair can come as a bit of an after-thought. Or, it used to - before I was introduced to styling sprays. Styling sprays are the ultimate hair saviour for those days when you want a non-commital haircare routine. Just take the Color Wow Dream Coat Supernatural Spray as an example.
A cheaper alternative is the Revlon UniqOne Hair Treatment, coming in currently at just £7.29 on Amazon. After hearing its rave reviews and seeing Chloe Burrows give it a go, I thought: why not? Knowing I have drier ends, I thought I'd test out a leave-in conditioner to nourish my hair
As I've mentioned many times before, my hair is prone to frizz. Like my skin type, I often jokingly refer to my hair as 'combination hair'. When I haven't had my roots done, it can get oily up top and really dry at the bottom. So, this spray allows me to balance out my ends by giving it some much-needed, thirst-quenching hydration.
After applying, I immediately noticed that my thick, coarse hair was much softer to the touch. Any frizz was a distant memory, and it made my hair much easier to detangle. It keeps your hair soft and shiny for days afterwards, especially, I found, after blowdrying. Another added bonus? Built-in heat protection. Literally salon-worthy.
It took a little bit of practice to get the amount just right. Personally, I'd completely avoid spraying it near your roots, as this caused my hair to get greasy pretty quickly (learn from my mistakes!). But, after perfecting the technique with my blowdryer, it had a similar effect to Olaplex for me - just on a budget.
What we loved
Here are just a few reasons why we love the Revlon UniqOne Hair Treatment, and why it's a repeat purchase in our Amazon basket.
• Smooth, silky hair: It really does feel as though it improves the condition of your hair after use. Frizz, tangles and coarseness disappear and you're left with hair that's smooth, silky and soft to the touch - making styling effortless.
• Low-maintenance application: It can be used wet or dry, meaning you can tailor it to your routine. If you're in a rush, apply a small amount on your hands and run it through your hair for a shot of moisture. It really couldn't be any easier.
• Lasts for ages: Not only are the effects of the leave-in conditioner long-lasting in itself, but the bottle lasts you for ages as well - especially as you don't need much when applying.
What could be better
We took a look at some of the reviews on Amazon to see if there were any pain points with the Revlon UniqOne Hair Treatment that we agreed with. Reviewers said, and we agreed, that the following could be room for improvement.
• Better with blowdrying: I've found that, when airdrying, my hair does retain its frizz slightly, (although it does improve it a lot), so it's best to blowdry after use to smooth out your locks.
• The consistency: The consistency is pretty thick, so if you're expecting a fine mist, think again. It sprays on with a similar consistency to an actual conditioner. If you're of the thinner hair type, use with caution.
How the product was tested
I've tested the Revlon UniqOne Hair Treatment in multiple methods over the past year that I've owned it. I tend to stick to the traditional wet hair styling method. You simply wash your hair, spray in a bit of the treatment through your mid-length to ends, and dry it how you see fit. Yep, that's literally it.
I've noticed that I see the benefit much more when blow-drying as it boosts the shine in your hair. When air drying, I still had a little bit of frizz but it was noticeably much more controlled than usual. You can see just how wavy my hair gets when I use Only Curls hair products, here.
But, here's how my hair looked after blowdrying it with the Revlon UniqOne Hair Treatment and the Revlon One-Step Styling styling tool. Pretty shiny, right?
I've also used it with dry styling, and it pretty much has the same effect! So if you want a low-maintenance refresh and a silky smooth blowout, I'd recommend running the product through dry ends and teaming it with the Revlon One-Step as a final step.
Final verdict
Overall, I'd highly recommend the Revlon UniqOne Hair Treatment for those looking for a low-maintenance haircare product that nourishes the hair as you wear it. It's suitable for all hair types, but I'd recommend it for wavy, curly and those with dry or damaged hair due to bleaching or colouring.
Given that the product is on the thicker side in terms of its consistency, (similar to a conditioner), I'd say that thinner hair types should approach with caution and use sparingly. Too much product will weigh down the hair and may cause it to become greasy.
However, it works great for my hair, leaving it silky smooth, shiny and soft - especially with a blowdry.
Revlon UniqOne Hair Treatment FAQs
How to use Revlon UniqOne Hair Treatment?
For wet hair, which tends to be the method that I use: Spray from a distance to the mid-lengths and ends, comb it through with a detangling comb and finish with your usual method of styling whether that's blowdrying or airdrying.
And, for dry hair, spray the product into the palm of your hand, rub it in between your hands and apply to the mid-lengths and ends, either blowdry it or wait for it to dry and refresh your hair with the straighteners. It really is that simple!
