If you're a fan of The Ordinary, you'll be well versed in the brand's goes-out-of-stock-in-two-seconds products.
From the Peeling Solution to the Niacinamide/Zinc serum (the key to combatting maskne, by the way), the guys and gals behind The Ordinary know what they're doing and so, naturally, a whole host of their reasonably priced products fly off the shelves within minutes of arrival.
One of our fave skin heroes has got to be The Ordinary's Granactive Retinoid collection. This budget entryway to anti-aging skincare comes in three variants: a two per cent emulsion, two per cent in squalane and five per cent in squalane.
To break that down for you, the two squalane options come in a base of squalane oil which, according to Caroline Hirons, "makes it softer."
The squalane two per cent is said to minimise any retinoid irritation entirely, while the squalane five per cent is a tad stronger - perhaps better for slightly older skins - but still prompts zero to minimal irritation.
While it doesn't have the squalane oil buffer, the two per cent emulsion still promises a low risk of irritation and, with this variant, the less oily formula (more like a cream) poses less of a risk to blemishes and flare ups, too. If you have particularly oily skin, this could be the pick for you.
If you're completely overwhelmed by the lingo and, quite frankly, haven't a clue what a retinoid even is, have a scroll down - we've broken it down for ya (you're welcome).
So, before these bad boys sell out - and, trust us, they will - get shopping, QUICK.

What are retinoids?
A retinoid is the name for any one of the ingredients which falls under the vitamin A umbrella.
In the case of The Ordinary's Granactive collection, that ingredient is actually retinoate, which is a milder, less irritating version of retinol. But yes, all of the variants fall under the retinoid umbrella.
What do retinoids do?
Retinoids, as well as SPFs, are the most effective skincare weapons we have at our disposal to combat the signs of ageing. Vitamin A works to stimulate collagen production and, while resurfacing the skin, it aims to leave skin looking more hydrated and pump, with fine lines and wrinkles minimised.
