It’s always awkward seeing a former flame out and about, but just imagine if you’re a Love Island star walking the red carpet at one of the year’s biggest events and you bump into your All Stars ex while surrounded by the who’s who of the entertainment industry, loads of journalists and a pack of paps waiting to capture the mortifying moment on camera. We think we’d simply vanish into thin air.
That’s exactly the situation that Anton Danyluk and Georgia Harrison found themselves in at the BAFTA TV Awards last weekend and not only that, but Anton also had his latest romance on his arm.
So, what exactly do you do when you find yourself face-to-face with your ex at a swanky celeb bash just weeks after your split? Well, according to Anton, he tried to say hi to Georgia but it didn’t go very well…
“I saw Georgia and wanted to be civil,” Anton explained.
“I tried to say ‘hi’ and she replied ‘f**k off”.”
OUCH.
Anton admitted that he was confused by Georgia’s sweary reaction and insisted, “I’ve been nothing but good to her.”
“I don’t understand," he told The Sun.
According to the publication, Georgia was overheard bemoaning her love life and told friends, “Urgh, men. F*** men. Every boyfriend is worse than the last.”
Still, Georgia didn’t let her run-in with Anton ruin her night and she was later spotted partying with pals including Pete Wicks, Maura Higgins and Eyal Booker.
It was first reported that Anton and Georgia had split last month, although neither confirmed they’d broken up until he addressed things on his podcast a couple of weeks ago.
Dismissing claims that he and Georgia had parted ways because of distance, Anton explained, “I just don’t think there was really that romantic spark there. We did both try. At times it was there but just not enough for it to continue as a relationship.
“Especially for Georgia, she had so many people on her side wanting it to work for her but it was just never there for her I don’t think.”
