It’s been a few weeks now since reports of Love Island’s Anton Danyluk and Georgia Harrison split first surfaced not long after they left the All Stars villa and save for a few passive aggressive Instagram captions, neither one of them has said much about their break up.

However, that’s now all changed as Anton has addressed his split from Georgia on the latest episode of the podcast he presents with his mum, What’s The Crack?

Although it was initially claimed that Anton and Georgia broke up because the distance between their homes in Essex and Scotland caused issues, he revealed that wasn’t actually why they split.

He explained, “In the press, a source said the distance was the issue, now we were in London every other week so I don’t think distance was the issue. Obviously that wasn’t the case”

Anton’s mum Sherrie added, “You did see each other quite a lot, but me being your mother I just knew within that it was actually just a really really good friendship, I think the two of you got more into that friendship with each other.”

Revealing the real reason he split with Georgia, Anton continued, “I just don’t think there was really that romantic spark there. We did both try. At times it was there but just not enough for it to continue as a relationship.”

“Especially for Georgia, she had so many people on her side wanting it to work for her but it was just never there for her I don’t think.”

Although he's been navigating a very public break up, there is someone putting a smile on Anton's face as he recently shared that one of his fellow Islanders had been "lifting his spirits".

Anton took to his Instagram grid a few weeks back to share a some snaps of him and his villa bestie, Hannah Elizabeth, captioning the post, "Few days with the bestie always lifts the spirits ❤️ @hannahelizinsta."

In the comments section, Anton's entrepreneur mate, Elliot Wise wrote, "Here for you mate. X," to which Anton replies, "@wiseelliot needed just now bro ❤️."

Anton and Elliot then shared a separate joint grid post together with the caption, "A gentleman will uphold his integrity no matter what adversity is thrown at him 🧐."

Bless those Love Island All Stars - love was seemingly scarce in that star-studded South African villa, wasn't it? Excluding Molly Smith and Tom Clare and Sophie Piper and Josh Ritchie, of course, who are just perfect specimens of young humanity. They’re both slowly redefining that old phrase 'power couple' and we can confirm both couples are inhumanly gorgeous and genuinely nice IRL, too. Scar was right, sometimes life’s just not fair.

But Molly and Tom and Sophie and Josh aside, All Stars didn’t exactly launch a new legion of showbiz couples on to the scene. Soon after the show wrapped, Callum Jones and Jess Gale called it quits, as did Adam Maxted and Arabella Chi, and of course, Georgia Steel revealed that Toby Aromolaran ruthlessly chucked her just four weeks after the final. Ooft.
