Love Island wrapped on Monday 29 July after two months of filming in Majorca, and naturally, the pessimists have already begun discussing which of our Love Island 2024 couples will split now the cameras are off.
Normally, we'd be the first to take on the trolls on behalf of the more positive side of the fandom and prove the haters wrong, but it seems we've already got our first couple casualty...
Don't worry, we've not lost any of our final couples (yet), but we have lost one of our faves of the series...
Casa Amor bombshell Hugo Godfroy took to his Instagram story today (Friday 2 August) to confirm that him and OG Jess White – the same Jess who ditched bombshell Trey Norman for him – had officially called it quits after just a few weeks together. In fact, it seems they called it quits immediately after the Love Island final (where they were visibly together).
Hug confirmed, "Just to let everyone know Jess and I agreed to go our separate ways after the final in Majorca.
"I'm hoping we can still be friends as we had a great experience together, she's s lovely girl and I wish her all the best ❤️."
Super fans will already know that speculation around the Love Island relationship has been rising ever since Hugo was spotted getting close to Love Island 2023 bombshell Charlotte Sumner at an after party for the National Reality Televisions Awards on Wednesday. And when we say 'getting close', we mean quite obviously smooching her.
An onlooker at the event told The Sun: "Hugo and Charlotte could not keep their hands off each other all night.
"It was clear that they only had eyes for each other and didn't care who was watching as they enjoyed a slew of snogs on the dance floor.
"They even found a quiet corner of the packed bar to have another passionate kiss - it made it pretty obvious that Hugo and Jess are very much over but she is still bound to be stunned to see he has moved on so quickly."
While Hugo has released a statement, Jess has remained quiet on socials.
Electrician Hugo was one of the Casa Amor lads hoping to make his way back into the main villa. After flirting up a storm with Matilda Draper and Jess, Jess ended up taking him back to the main villa. The couple remained together until they were dumped on day 38. The couple returned to the villa on day 55 alongside some of their fellow ex-Islanders to decide which couple would be dumped ahead of the final.
