Love Island series ten finalists Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nowacki have been embroiled in a public dispute in the wake of their split earlier this year (April 2025); a dispute that has now led to Lochan suing Whitney.

In recent months, Whitney has publicly accused her ex of making racist remarks, alleging that he called her skin 'dirty' during their relationship. The claims surfaced last month (August 2025) after Whitney posted a TikTok alluding to the comment, saying she had 'finally fell in love with my skin he used to call dirty.'

The post sparked a social media storm, and Whitney's sister shared screenshots of text messages that appeared to suggest that Lochan admitted crossing a line, though he denied the racist intent, describing it as a bad joke.

Whitney has since hinted that Lochan ended the relationship unilaterally, describing the split day as 'a cruel reminder of winter’s chill' and framing it as his choice to stop choosing her and their relationship.

Lochan has since maintained a relatively low profile on the details, but denied racist allegations publicly.

Most recently, it seems the dispute is set to escalate into legal action, with Lochan confirming that he plans to sue Whitney following the exchange of accusations and public fallout.

Over the weekend, the pair's Instagram stories were rife with screenshots and comments about the ongoing situation, with Lochan going on to make the following statement, 'A series of posts have been released making defamatory comments about my family, friends and I. I never wanted things to reach this stage, and I did try to take this situation through to resolution. I felt I was left with no other choice but to take this course of action.

'Taking this step was not about taking anything from Whitney, it’s about protection, it’s about clearing the serious reputational damage that has been caused to me and my family.

'For the avoidance of doubt, I categorically deny and refute the information that has been spread about my family and myself online.

'I have no desire to prolong this situation. More than anything, I want to close this down and for us both to move forward separately.'

A few hours after Lochan's statement, Whitney publicly replied, writing, 'Racial ignorance is at an all time high. You’re not a Black woman so you can never tell me how to feel when you make "these jokes". One year, two year, even ten years later, I will always be within my right to tell my story. Instead of recognising how these comments made me feel, especially now being outside of the love bubble, you still chose to disregard my story. Your actions have shown it was never love, it was about reputation and money. Charge it to the game.'

Whitney and Lochan were a popular couple on Love Island series ten. They met in Casa Amor and their relationship quickly became one of the strongest in the villa. They became official boyfriend and girlfriend on the show, and made it to the final, finishing as runners-up (second place) behind Jess Harding and Sammy Root.
