As the host of Love Island and spin-off shows Love Island: All Stars and Love Island Games, Maya Jama spends at least half of the year helping the sexy singletons that enter the villa find love, but her own dating history has hit the headlines in the past too.
As well as a brief engagement to basketball player (and Kendall Jenner’s ex) Ben Simmons in 2022, Maya famously dated rapper Stormzy between 2014 and 2019. They rekindled their romance four years later, but confirmed they’d split once again back in July.
Fast forward to the present day and Maya’s love life is the talk of the town once again as she reportedly dating an ex of 2019 and All Stars Islander, Arabella Chi.
According to reports, the TV presenter has been dating Premier League footballer Ruben Dias – who was in a relationship with Arabella before she entered the Love Island villa for the second time – for the past month.
It’s claimed that Maya and Ruben met in September at MTV Europe Music Awards in Manchester before following each other on social media and even enjoying a romantic dinner together on New Year’s Eve.
‘Maya and Ruben swapped details at the EMAs and have chatted since, but things went up a gear in early December,’ a source told The Sun.
‘When Ruben got injured and had to miss the congested new year fixtures, he jumped at the chance to see in 2025 with Maya in Spain. Spending New Year’s Eve together was a real step forward in their relationship.’
The source added, ‘They get on really well and obviously make a gorgeous couple, but it’s early days.’
Maya and Ruben were spotted dining together at Sa Capella in Ibiza on the last night of the year, with blurry pictures of the pair surfacing online shortly after.
Prior to his alleged romance with Maya, Ruben – who plays for Manchester City and Portugal – began Love Islander Arabella in September 2023 before calling time on their relationship shortly after they saw in the New Year together.
Arabella entered the All Stars villa as a bombshell shortly after, with friends and family addressing her split from Ruben in an Instagram Q&A.
When one of her followers asked, ‘Is she still with her bf?’, those running her account replied, ‘No it just didn't work out.
‘She's back in the villa because she really wants to find the one.’
Arabella didn’t manage to find love in the villa, but she’s now happily loved up with businessman boyfriend Billy Henty and they’re expecting their first child together.
