Going into the second series of Love Island: All Stars, the heatworld team had a dozen or so predictions as to which iconic Islanders would be heading into the villa, who would couple up and, more importantly, who would catastrophically clash (totally called Ekin Cülcüloğlu and Elma Pazar, btw).
Given that Love Island is 85% of our personality, of course, almost all of our predictions were right.
Frustratingly, one is still glaringly outstanding, and given that the finale is in a few days' time, it's looking highly unlikely that this one is going to transpire this year. Drum roll, please...
It's obv Love Island 2023 fave Scott van-der-Sluis strutting into the villa and whisking his former fling Catherine Agbaje off her feet. In reality, Catherine's heading into the final with Omar Nyame and Scott is in the UK doing podcast interviews about how he's not going on All Stars.
Even we're not perfect.
Anyway, Scott recently popped on his bestie Whitney Adebayo's podcast, What's It Giving?, to discuss why the heck he hasn't sauntered through those villa doors yet and his reasons well, they're very Scott, in that they're VERY honest, a tad shady and downright hilarious. Which let's be honest, is why we all wanted him to return for All Stars – the bombshell is great telly.
We also wanted him to go back in for Catherine – a fling we have been manifesting a reunion for for months and months now. Of course, Whitney got the real tea for us.
So it turns out Love Island producers did want Scott for All Stars, but he turned them down, and here's why...
He confessed, 'I'm 24 and a lot of the girls in there, they're in their 30s, mid-30s, and when the cast was announced, there were conversations about me doing it. I was like, "I'm 24. these are in the mid-thirties."
'It's giving Love Island Old Stars.'
The. SHADE. But wait, a min, Catherine is in there and she's literally the same age as Scott, so there must be more to this?
'Obviously everyone's got an opinion about the situation and Catherine being in the villa,' he began.
Whitney – who let's remember was Catherine's video call from home – then asked, 'If you were in [the villa] who would you have coupled up with?'
Scott replied, 'Obviously me and Cat [Catherine] if we were put in that situation again, then you never know what could happen.
'But I feel like if we were put in that situation again and it didn't work and I went a different way, I feel like I just I would just get hated for it.'
Yeah, but then you'd just go back on Love Island again, Scott. And again. And again. AND AGAIN.
