Love Island recouplings don't get much more brutal than the winter 2023 Casa Amor recoupling that saw a whopping nine out of twelve bombshells get dumped following the reintroduction of the spanner in the works that is the second villa.
Lydia Karakyriakou was one of the Islanders that was dumped after failing to find a love connection in the villa despite getting to know Tom Clare very well. Although he shared a bed with Lydia and kissed her on the terrace (classic Tom), the footballer chose to stick and remain coupled up with Sami Elishi.
A heartbroken Lydia was sent packing on a flight home, but it seems her love life could be on the up after returning to the UK as she's teased a romance with a Love Island 2022 star.
Lydia took to Instagram to ask her followers which Islanders past or present they would have paired her with and the answers were veryyyy interesting, especially when Lydia shared some major tea about her Love Island journey.
Referring to Love Island 2022's Jacques O'Neill and Luca Bish, one of her followers answered "Jacques or Luca from last series."
Lydia then replied, "A lot of you said these two! It's actually funny because ITV had reached out to me for that season but I was in a relationship at the time! Wonder if we would have got along?"
Oh, what could have been... and what could still be, tbh. As far as we're aware Jacques is still single and so is Luca following his split from Gemma Owen.
Lads, if you're reading this then we're sure Lydia would be more than happy for you to slide into her DMs. May the best man win...
Lydia isn't the first 2023 Islander Jacques has been linked to as he left a rather flirty message for Anna-May Robey when she was dumped from the villa last month.
When the official Love Island Instagram account shared an emotional video of Anna-May saying goodbye to her fellow Islanders, Jacques wrote, "I’ll make sure @annamayrobey is okay."
However, Anna-May later admitted that Jacques HADN'T slid into her DMs. Whether he lands in Lydia's inbox remains to be seen, though.
