Faye Winter has opened up about “broken friendships” in a candid Instagram post amid rumours of a feud between this year’s Love Island cast.

After a fiery series which saw Faye break the record for most complained about Love Island moment ever, Jake Cornish and Liberty Poole quit the villa after a heartbreaking split and Liam Reardon secretly kiss Lillie Haynes behind Millie Court’s back in Casa Amor, fans first began speculating that some of the Islanders had fallen out when Faye revealed she hadn’t spoken to Millie, Liberty or Chloe Burrows after returning to the UK.

Jake later revealed that he was no longer on speaking terms with any of the female Islanders following his split with Liberty. After missing the Love Island reunion due to illness, he appeared to suggest that the girls had cut ties with him.

And now, after both Sharon Gaffka and Chloe spoke out on the “feud”, Faye has spoken out about how she deals with friendships that have broken down. The former lettings agent, who has recently moved into a new home with boyfriend Teddy Soares, opened up during a Instagram Q&A when one of her followers asked, “How do you deal with broken friendships?”

Faye cryptically replied, “True friendships don’t break and if they break, it’s because they weren’t friends in the first place.”

Faye’s comments come after her villa BFF Sharon Gaffka admitted there was a “rift” between this year’s Islanders despite her attempts to “keep the peace”.

Sharon told the Mirror, “It is hard because I want to be friends with everybody, but not everybody is friends with everybody since they left.

“I feel like I am playing mum and trying to keep the peace with certain people, but it is really nice to see him [Jake] out and about and to know he still has friends from the villa."

But one person who is steering clear of the drama is Chloe Burrows who insisted that there’s “no bad blood between anyone”.

She told Metro, “I mean I literally got a message off him [Jake] this morning so it’s definitely not me. There’s a big WhatsApp group but I don’t think people use it. I just feel like there were closer friendships in the villa and stuff which have stayed on the outside, but as far as I know, there’s no bad blood between anyone.

“I’ve literally messaged him this morning. Me and Jake are cool.”

Jake previously admitted he wasn’t feeling the love from the girls after parting ways from Liberty just days before the final despite being an item since day one.

“I don’t speak to any of the girls,” he told FUBAR Radio’s Access All Areas. “I think I’m a lone wolf that side. They’re there and I’ve just gone this way.”

He continued, “I speak to Brad, Liam, Danny, Tyler… Aaron Francis.

“I’ll speak to them [the other guys] here and there if they message me on Instagram, but really on WhatsApp where you’re gonna speak to them is a handful of the lads. There’s probably six of the lads.”
