Love Island is a bit like Christmas when you think about it. We all cement ourselves within an impenetrable seasonal bubble every year, there's literally WEEKS of build up and the leftovers linger around for far too long (we're looking at you Casa Amor bombshells).
Here at heatworld, Love Island is basically our Christmas and apparently we're starting celebrations even earlier this year, because here we are in April gossiping about the upcoming summer series, set to launch in the first week of June.
To be fair, talking about potential Islanders is a major tradition around springtime, especially any nepo babies – like Gemma Owen and Jack Keating – on the rumoured list. And here's the first...
According to reports, the daughter of a Celebrity Big Brother icon is "in talks" with Love Island producers about appearing on the summer series and if she's anything like her wild celeb mama, we are so here for it.
No, it's not Sharon Osbourne's daughter Kelly, nor Fern Britton's daughters Winnie or Grace; it's actually Real Housewives of Cheshire icon and CBB legend Lauren Simon's 19-year-old daughter, Gigi.
A source told the publication, "It’s early stages and she’s just in talks but Gigi is really keen to sign up.
"She’s obviously got ITV connections through her mum but if she does get on the show, it won’t be because of that."
Well, we're sure being Lauren Simon's daughter probably will help her cause, but we have to say, if Gigi does make the line-up then prepare for some exceptionally entertaining telly. Gigi regularly pops up as a guest on The Real Housewives of Cheshire (often to shade her mother) and as well as being clearly stunning, she's hella hilarious in front of the camera. She's giving 2024 Chloe Burrows (main character energy) and we're obviously here for that.
Obviously, we are still only in April, so we're a few weeks off getting the official cast line-up from ITV, which means this is all purely speculation at this stage, but feel free to manifest, Love Island fans – in fact, we encourage you to do so, because just IMAGINE Lauren rocking up in the Love Island villa for the family and friends ep (hopefully wheeled in in a wheelie bin).
Insiders have claimed that Love Island 2024 will launch on Monday 3 June 2024 – which actually makes sense as historically (since 2017) the summer series has always kicked off in the first week of June.
Love Island 2024 will be the second series to air on on ITV this year, following a successful All Stars series – won by Molly Smith and Tom Clare – earlier this year.
