We've spoken to a LOT of Love Island stars over the years, and while their experiences as a whole have differed, one thing has remained pretty much constant amongst all of them – upon getting on the show, NO ONE wants to be a Casa Amor bombshell and EVERYONE wants to be an OG.
It makes sense really; the likes of Harriett Blackmore and Ronnie Vint have gone on to slay the influencer/party scene a tad harder this summer than, erm, well, let's just say a handful of more downtrodden Casa boys and girls. No shade.
Let's be honest, OGs are far more likely to make it to the final and seize the maximum amount of air time possible, while Casa Amor bombshells – or even bombshells who enter after Casa (a death sentence) – will most likely struggle to get viewers to even remember their first name. Again, no shade.
Saying all that, one Love Island 2024 queen who absolutely slayed her Casa experience - going on to make it to the final with OG boyfriend Ayo Odukoya - was Jessica Spencer.
Let's be clear, Jessica – and winter Love Island's Sanam Harrinanan – were Casa Amor anomalies and good for them, tbh.
So how do you do it? How do you excel in Casa Amor and bag yourself a ticket to the final when the odds are so heavily stacked against you? Well, Jessica has revealed all, sharing her advice to future Casa Amor girls, and PHWOAR, the finalist does not hold back...
During an Instagram Q&A, a fan/potentially future Casa Amor girl asked Jessica, 'Advice for future Casa girls going on then show? Loved you, you were such a breath of fresh air.'
Honestly, we didn't, but we could've sent this. Love us some Jess.
At first, we were a little taken a back when reading Jessica's response, as the first words we read were, 'Don't do it'.
Phwoar - savage.
But not really, as she continued, 'Just joking. In all seriousness expect nothing and just try and have fun - stick up for yourself as much as possible because it's inevitable you will have a hard time coming in at a later stage (mainly from viewers - not all thank god).'
Tbf, that's actually some solid advice from someone who definitely knows what she's talking about, so take heed, future Islanders.
Jessica joined the show for Casa Amor alongside Lucy, Diamanté Laiva, Ruby Dale, Emma Milton and Ellie Jackson. She coupled up with Ayo during Casa and ignoring interference from Joey Essex and Sean Stone, and made in to the final.
Ayo and Jess hit a mini speed bump in their relationship when their families came to visit, as Ayo's brother confessed he felt Ayo was better suited to Mimii, who he was with before Casa Amor. A few tears and chats later, Ayo and Jess were back on track and Mimii went on to win the show alongside Josh Oyinsan.
See, Casa dreams do come true. Rarely, but it does happen.
