Yes, Love Island 2023...

Jessy Potts and Molly Marsh

One of the biggest shocks in Love Island history (yeah, we said it) was when Molly Marsh was savagely dumped from the villa only to return during Casa Amor and rekindle her romance with Zacariah Noble.

However, it turns out things could have been VERY different. According to Love Island 2024 star Jessy Potts, at least.

Jessy recently came to visit us at heat Towers (sadly sans Joey Essex, who’s currently in Ibiza) and she spilled the tea of all tea when she let slip that she was actually supposed to appear on Love Island 2023. She even got flown out Mallorca and everything.

Jessy explained that she was supposed to enter the villa as a Casa Amor bombshell before producers decided that she would have been “wasted” as a Casa girl.

“I was flown out as a Casa girl and then met with producers and directors and stuff and they said that I'd be wasted in Casa. I needed to go in as a bombshell,” she began.

And here’s where it gets very interesting…. After Jessy was sent home by producers, Molly Marsh was drafted in by execs and flown back out to Mallorca.

Wait, so this does mean there’s an alternate universe where Molly never returned to the villa and Jessy was a Casa bombshell instead? Our heads are spinning, tbh.

“They flew me back home and flew Molly Marsh back in and then I was on hold for two weeks waiting to see when was the right time [to enter as a bombshell],” the current Mrs Essex added.

“But there wasn't the right time and then it would have been too late by that point. So yeah, it's happened this year.”

Well, it all worked out in the end, didn’t it? Molly is still with Zach after they got back together and went travelling on the other side of the world and Joey and Jessy are currently super loved-up.

We love a happy ending.
