Where did they go?

Love Island viewers were left baffled on Sunday night as Aftersun was broadcast live from a very empty villa.

As Laura Whitmore and her panel, that included 2017 contestant Olivia Attwood, dished all the gossip, viewers were left questioning where the four remaining couples were as the villa looked ‘empty’.

One viewer wrote, "I want to know where the Islanders are whilst Laura and everyone is in the villa live for Aftersun”, while another added, "Are the Islanders in the villa while Aftersun is airing??"

Although the whereabouts of the Islanders is unclear, it’s likely that they were hidden away (likely in the bedroom) for the entirety of the show as they prepare for the final on Monday night.

Or could it be that Aftersun was airing while the Islanders were enjoying their day off? Yep, contestants get one day off a week.

Former Islander Kem Cetinay had previously made the revelation, explaining that even though they have a day off, they are told not to talk about the show.

"They get one day off a week," the 2017 winner explained to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning.

Chloe may have caught all the boys' attentions as evidenced in a recent explosive episode, but you can see she's always been a stunner from this uni halls pic taken way back in 2015.

Faye Winter

Faye has certainly nailed this classic Instapose in this snap from 2019 - the hair, tan and Adidas bodysuit are all on point and a sign of things to come.

A quick glance over Brad's insta and it's clear he uses it primarily to document his fitness journey. This snap from 2017 is from before it all began.

Aaron Francis

Like Kaz, Aaron was already trying his hand as an influencer before he signed up to Love Island and so most of his photos are pretty glossy, but scroll down far enough and we found this photo of him seemingly winning an arm wrestle against Somoan Rugby Union player Many Tuilangi.

Toby Aromolaran

Toby's not giving anything away with this sultry selfie from 2018, other than perhaps that he's heading off on his holidays, judging by his passport and boarding pass. He doesn't look that excited about it though, does he?

It looks like Liberty has always been a big fan of the finer things in life - as well as a blonde hair extension or two - judging from this snap with a pal from 2019.

Viewers couldn't believe that Liam was only 21 when he entered the villa, but here's proof that Liam looked 30 way back in 2018 (regular teenaged boy for reference).

This photo of Rach taken on a night out was posted in 2017 but captioned, "2 Years Ago ud83dude2b#CanILookLikeThisAgainPlease", so we can assume it's from way back in 2015.

Right, we can't actually believe this 2018 photo of bombshell Lucinda - have Love Island checked her I.D.? Is she old enough to be on the show?

WATCH “Faye and Teddy won’t last on the outside” Aaron, Abi and Clarisse tell is how it is!

“What happens is it gives them a day to clean the villa and you take your mics off and normally we go to the beach and we just chill out.

"Not a lot of people know this. What happens is when you take your mics off, you’re not allowed to talk about anything to do with the show.

"You’ve got to talk about home life. You’re being watched by an evil hawk, by the producers because they don’t want you to talk about what’s going on.

"You can all sit and chat but they are quite careful about what you talk about because they want to keep it so everyone at home can see and get it on video.

"It’s more a day off from all the intense games, all the intense dates, deciding who you like and don’t like."

It's not the first time a former Islander has split a Love Island filming secret. 2019 Islander Maura Higgins previously admitted producers forced contestants to re-shoot scenes when they spoke too quietly or "said the wrong words".

She told the Late Late Show Ireland, "Just say, for instance, if a text came through and you weren't loud [enough] or if you stumbled on your words, you'd have to re-take obviously."

She added she was one of the main culprits, saying: "Some words I'd say wrong and I had to do it again. That happened a lot, actually."
