We were over the moon when Gogglebox finally returned to our screens after months away.
The likes of the Malone family, sisters Ellie and Izzi Warner and Pete Sandiford and his sister Sophie all returned to the much-loved Channel 4 show, however there were some fan favourites missing.
Not only did Mica Ven and Marcus Luther not appear on the show after they quit earlier this year, but fans also spotted that Stephen Webb and his husband Daniel Lustig also failed to make an appearance in the premiere episode of series 21.
Viewers have been left scratching their heads as to why Stephen and Daniel missed the show, especially as they hadn’t announced they were leaving, and now Stephen has spoken out to set the record straight.
It turns out Stephen and Daniel’s absence was only temporary. PHEW.
Taking to Instagram after the show aired, Stephen shared a photo of him and Daniel and wrote, “He’s home just in time for #gogglebox. We are not on this week as Daniel’s been away sunning himself in Dubai.”
Thank goodness for that, eh? Get yourself back on that sofa sharpish, boys.

Hairdresser Stephen is a Gogglebox veteran who has been on the show since it first aired back in 2013 (that's right, nearly ten years ago). What happened between Stephen and Chris?
Chris Butland-Steed left Gogglebox in 2019 and he originally said he was leaving to pursue a career in TV. However, a year later Chris said he was 'bullied' off the showand went on to claim that he was forced to quit by Stephen.
Initially speaking to The Mirror following his exit in 2019, Chris had claimed Stephen ended the pair's Channel 4 production deal over email without telling him.
"After he sent that email I didn’t speak to him for a little while because I was hurt by it," Chris said at the time.
"Then the studio called and said they would like to offer us the position back on Gogglebox. I spoke to Stephen and his attitude was ‘I’m not sure I can put up with you every other week filming’. Which was a bit of a blow."
Chris took to Twitter to address the situation, saying, "A year on, I’ve finally had the courage to stand up to a bully and start to tell the story of how @Stephenwebb71 forced me off @C4Gogglebox and how it’s affected my mental health since.
"Hopefully, the truth of my story will help others who are struggling."
