Humour us for a minute, yeah? If you're a very British Love Island fan we can probably guess two things that really tick you off: queuing of any kind and the Love Island reunion show. Are we right? We're right aren't we?
The Love Island reunion show invites all OG Islanders, bombshells, and Casa Amor kings and queens back (even if they neglect to actually film them – awks) to the London studio a week after the final for a look back at the last eight week's worth of poolside villa antics (the good, the bad, and the iconic). And historically, it's dryer than the crust you leave in the pizza box for days on end. Every year we come for the drama and leave short changed. Actually scrap that, we leave robbed.
But this year. Oh, but this year, it appears producers have FINALLY listened to the fandom (and their loyal press) and decided to dial the drama up a notch; this year, we had Maya Jama and Indiyah Polack encouraging Islanders to name and shame, Casey O'Gorman getting it from all angles and deflecting any backlash with that gorj smile, and of course, THAT intense – albeit slightly uncomfortable – Tanya and Shaq vs Martin throwdown. You can't whinge, Love Island Twitter, you wanted this. You literally cried out for it for years.
The drama at this year's reunion was so palpable it corporealised after the reunion wrapped and hopped in the cabs with the rest of the Islanders as they partied the night away at the after party at Tape London. Hordes of our Islanders took to their individual socials to rub the night in our faces as they sang, drank and danced (well, there was a lot of gyrating and bums rubbing on the floor) the night away.
A few hours into the partying, one iconic Islander (famous for her tea spilling, we might add) took to her Instagram story to lift the lid on a secret fight that took place in the early hours of Monday morning inside the club, hours after reunion filming wrapped.
Bombshell Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown – who officially confirmed that she was dating fellow bombshell Jordan Odofin during last night's reunion – took to her Instagram Story at just gone 3am to whinge to her followers that she was ready to go home but that her and other clubgoers (including bf Jordan) were being "held hostage" in the club as a fight had broken out.
Zara said, "We are being held hostage at Tape right now. There is a fight. We're trying to go home."
Yikes – this is not the drama we meant, lovelies. But surely if there's anyone who can diffuse a fight between two or more no doubt young, good-looking Sunday night club goers, it's an Islander?
No word yet as to whether any of this year's Islanders were involved in the alleged fight or whether it was separate to the star-studded group. From Zara's tone, we're guessing the fight involved a group of randoms and not any of our gorgeous Islanders (phew).
Saying that, we hope everyone got home safe, as it's safe to say that things went from tense to wild over the course of several hours last night. Welcome to showbiz, kids.
