Hair was a big part of our love for Love Island series 9; from Olivia Hawkins' high pony, to Jessie Wynter's bouncy waves, to Tanyel Revan's mermaid mane, to the sheer flawlessness that was Zara Lackenby-Brown's locks. Even Spencer Wilks' top knot got us going for a few days there. We were utterly hypnotised by each and every one of them – it was like staring at multiple lava lamps for eight weeks straight and it was a happier time.

We genuinely couldn't pick a best barnet from this year's girls, but from the boys, without a shadow of a doubt, Casey O'Gorman's weightless Prince Charming hair came out on top. It's just that kind of wonderful, longer hair you can hold on to... while galloping off on his steed into the sunset for a joyous happily ever after.

Back in the room.

So imagine our surprise when we learned that Casey had decided to switch things up – opting for a Lord Farquaad chop over a Prince Charming. Don't panic, it's not as bad as it sounds. In fact, it's quite hot. Oh, and for the benefit of anyone born after the year 2001/anyone who hasn't been to one of those epic Shrek raves before, Lord Farquaad is the villain in the first Shrek film and his statement barnet resembles the wig a drag queen might buy on Amazon if they were planning a Claudia Winkleman tribute act. No shade intended – it just helps with the imagery.

As we said, fret not, as Casey didn't go to some bougie central London barbers asking for the 'Lord Farquaad', instead he went for a run in the rain recently resulting in one soaked head of hair. He brushed his hair forward, took a snap for Instagram and declared his 'new hair do' the 'Lord Farquaad' – well, sort of.

Fit, right? Princess Fiona might've chosen the villain if he'd looked like this.

Casey captioned the Instagram Story snap, "New hair do, what do we think?" He also included a cute image of the Shrek villain. Personally, we're getting more Tarzan on Home and Away than Lord Farquaad, Casey, but either way, we're kind of here for it.

Towards the end of March 2023, shortly after the Love Island finale and reunion, Casey announced that he and Rosie Seabrook were no longer an item after opening up about their relationship status in an Instagram Q&A.

The pair were dumped from the villa a week before the final and, at the time, vowed to continue their relationship in the outside world and meet each other’s families.

However, it seems that now won't be happening as Casey recently admitted they’re now just friends.

Casey was taking part in a Q&A when one of his followers asked, “How are things with you and Rosie?”

He replied, “Rosie and I have spoken…she’s such a great girl.”

Casey continued, “Life outside the villa is just very different and we will remain friends moving forward!”

More room on the steed for us then.
