Love Island 2020: Get to know Lewis Capaldi’s ex-girlfriend Paige Turley

Love Island starts in T - five days and we cannot wait for the show to begin.

It's the first ever series to air in January and the Islanders will also be based in South Africa, unlike the summer stars who stay in Spain.

There's also a new host this year in the form of Laura Whitmore, so we're expecting a whole different beast on our screens this winter.

Without further a do, let's meet one of the latest contestants: Paige Turley.

Who is Paige Turley?

Paige is a 22-year-old singer from West Lothian. She says she's the perfect Islander because she's "naturally flirty".

"I think it’s nice to flirt, it feels good. I’m from a small village where everyone knows each other or has been an ex of someone. I want to find someone who is different, and outside the small village mentality."

Paige is a 22 years old who's love life is summed up by the song, "Highway to Hell by AC/DC -my dates don’t know what they’re letting themselves in for!"

Where is Paige Turley from?

Paige is from West Lothian in Scotland. She says she won't struggle from being away from home but will struggle being forced away from her prized possession: her phone. Paige says, "I’m on my phone constantly, mainly on social media. I feel like I’m not in the room as much as I should be. I think that’s what I’m going to struggle with the most in the villa, not having my phone."

What is Paige Turley's job?

Paige is a singer, much like her ex Lewis Capaldi. Before going into the villa, Paige revealed she's been on TV before.

"When I was 14 I was on Britain’s Got Talent as a solo singer and I got to the semifinals. I sang Skinny Love by Birdy," she said.

Who is Paige Turley's ex-boyfriend?

Paige's ex-boyfriend is Lewis Capaldi. He's a singer who became a huge name in 2019, with his debut single Someone You Loved going straight to number one, as well as his debut album.

She said, "Lewis Capaldi is my ex boyfriend. We went out when we were younger, I was about 17 or 18. We were together for about a year. It ended really amicably and we’re still pals."

Lewis previously admitted his latest music and album was inspired by his relationship, and split, with Paige, saying, “I met a lady.

“She was very nice. I loved her. I loved the look of her and I loved how she spoke.

“We dated for a year-and-a-half, then she left me. Then I wrote an album about it and I still think about it every day.”

However, he has now opened up about her appearance on the show, wishing her "good luck."

Paige has had several bad dates, but this is her worst.

"Last year I went on a date and got drunk pretty quickly. I woke up the next day with vomit in my hair and I was in my ex boyfriend’s bed.

"I’d vomited all over his bed while he had slept on the couch. I had all these texts and FaceTimes and missed calls from the guy I’d been on the date with who I must have just left. I woke up and my ex said, ‘I hope you have a hangover!’"

Paige is also strong on girl code. She says, "You don’t go near each other’s men or exes. You have each other’s back, you are there for them in good times and bad times."

But she's hoping to find her perfect man. "It’s so cliché, but tall, dark and handsome," she added.

"He’s got to be quite witty with a bit of banter and something about him. I like a guy with a strong personality, he knows who he is and what he wants."
