As much as Love Island is all about finding, well, love, sometimes the friendships that the Islanders make during their time in the villa are just strong as their romantic connections (if not stronger, tbh).
Let’s be honest, we all want to find the Chloe Burrows to our Millie Court or the Catherine Agbaje to our Whitney Adebayo just as much as we want to find the Tommy Fury to our Molly-Mae Hague.
There have already been some iconic friendships formed in the Love Island 2024 villa, but it turns out there are also some close bonds that we never got to see on our screens.
Recently dumped Islander Wil Anderson lifted the lid on one friendship that definitely wasn’t shown on TV when he came down to heat Towers for a good old gossip with Uma Jammeh earlier this week.
When asked who he was closest to in the villa, Wil dropped some names we were expecting like Ronnie Vint, Joey Essex, Sean Stone, Ayo Odukoya and Ciaran Davies, but there one was curveball.
“I even got really close to Hugo [Godfroy] in the short time that I was with him and I saw him last night as well, so that was really good,” Wil told us.
Why didn’t we get to see this please, Love Island producers?
“All the boys were great, like, definitely,” Wil added.
It was a similarly diplomatic answer from Uma as she explained, “I would say I’m close to quite a few people in the villa. It’s hard because obviously everyone’s so different.
“I would say definitely, that’s still in there, Mimii [Ngulube], Matilda [Draper], but everyone really.
“Grace [Jackson], Nicole [Samuel], I literally love everyone in the villa.”
Wil and Uma also had plenty of nice things to say about Konnor Ewudzi too as they shed some light on why he hasn’t managed to find a connection in the villa.
“Konnor is a really, really nice, kind guy. Quiet. I don't think he's got the most luck with other girls. I just don't know if that's the way he is,” Wil said. “I kept telling him to lay it on thick, he said, 'I'm not changing, that's just who I am, I'm not changing for the show', which I get, but I feel like people were getting to the other girls [first] because he was taking so long.
"But, if that's the way he moves, then that's the way he moves. But, really, really nice guy."
