He's appeared on three different Love Island series in the space of a year and yet it seems none of us know the real Scott van-der-Sluis (except possibly Abi Moores 👀) thanks to his "mad" edit – at least according to Scott.
The footballer turned reality star entered the Love Island 2023 villa as a bombshell on day 11 and became an immediate hit with the viewers – mainly because we felt a bit sorry for him.
He couldn't really catch a break in the Love Island villa in his quest for love (remember when the entire villa questioned whether he actually liked Catherine Agbaje and he gathered EVERYONE round the fire pit for a telling off?), not to mention coming to blows with 'Messy' Mitch Taylor once or twice, but the fan love resulted in him being recruited for both Love Island USA and Love Island Games later that summer.
But according to Scott, his first edit is false, as despite coming across a bit of a lone ranger in the Majorca villa, he was allegedly close to all of his fellow Islanders and still is today.
Appearing on Demi and Frankie Sims' Sims Squared podcast, Scott reacted when the TOWIE stars seemed somewhat surprised that he had formed close relationships with so many of his season chums (he was off to dinner with Tyrique Hyde in London after recording with the sisters).
He said, "This is the mad thing about the edit I got on Love Island; everyone thinks I got bullied, I got isolated from everyone..."
Scott continued, "I got on with all of them, that was the thing," adding, "They’re all wishing me the best though – we’re all in a group chat together."
This isn't the first time a side of our Scott has seemingly been left on the editing room floor. Remember when Mitch and Ella Barnes popped into heat HQ and told us that Scott and Abi were the most, erm, intimate under the duvet in the villa? What a time.
Not that we saw any of that.
