Marrying a stranger on national TV is one thing, keeping the relationship going outside of the experiment and under the watchful eye of the public is another. But some couples from the last series of Married at First Sight UK have made it look like a walk in the park, seemingly going from strength to strength after appearing on the E4 show last year. Yet when TV bride Jay Howard had her say with heat, she's not confident that two of her co-stars are going to go the distance.
When heat asked Jay which couple she thinks will get married first (the marriages shown on screen are not legally binding), she replied, "I will say Tasha [Jay] and Paul [Liba]."
She then went on to say, "I don't think that Erica [Roberts] and Jordan [Gayle] will last for the long run, I'll be honest."
Fans will recall how Jay's ex-husband Luke Worley famously butted heads with Jordan during the series. It reached a dramatic head when the pair had a scrap in Jordan's apartment, resulting in Luke and Jay (as per the MAFS rulebook) being forced to leave the show.
After telling heat about the reunion's 'intense' scenes with Jordan, Jay added of the one-off special, "The emotions were very high with everybody. Jordan and Erica argue all the time anyway.
"I don't see them or speak to them anymore. It's a very explosive reunion put it that way."
Jay - who teased that she may be back on our screens soon - also weighs in on whether she would do more reality TV.
She told heat, "[I] probably [wouldn't do] another dating show. You might speak to me in 12 months, and if I haven't met anybody, then I'll be like, 'Right, I'm ready to go on another dating show.' I would definitely love to do TV again. I really enjoyed it. I would like to do something challenging - something that doesn't involve feelings."
In the meantime, Jay had some solid advice for future MAFS UK applicants, "You've got to have a thick skin. Just be yourself and don't go in with a game plan. People think that when you go on a TV show like this, you're automatically going to be famous. That's not the case."
She added, "I know that a couple of people from our series did do that, just for being on telly and not going in to actually find someone, which is what I went in for."
