The Love Island 2023 final is in sight and, as people start to place they bets on who will be crowned the winners, recently dumped islander Martin Akinola has an inkling of who WON’T be taking home the sweet sweet £50k prize money and we are actually sad about it.

We all know Martin wasn't going to pick Tanya Manhenga and Shaq Muhammad as his potential Love Island winners, but his choice may well surprise you.

On the most recent episode of heat Dates, Martin was open about who he wants to take home the crown as he admitted, “I want Kai and Sanam to win, realistically.”

Martin is not alone in his thinking.

Since they met that fateful night during Casa Amor, school teacher Kai Fagan and social worker Sanam Harrinanan’s romance has blossomed into one worthy of a novel, and Love Island fans are low-key obsessed.

All you have to do is take a scroll through Twitter to see the love for the new partnership. One viewer declared "Kai and Sanam in their own world minding their business #loveisland," and another tweeting, “I think it’s time to skip to the final. This season has nothing left to offer. I’m tired, everyone’s tired. Let’s crown Kai and Sanam winners and be done with it. #loveisland”

From being an honorary member of Destiny’s Chaldish to finding a bond with Sanam, Kai has had his own journey in the villa and gone on to be a fan favourite with countless viewers hoping he will make it to the finale.

Martin continued to chat about the couple and added, “I think they are probably the most genuine couple in there.”

Sadly, the Irish Islander may want them to be this year's Ekin Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti, but he conceded, “I feel like they’re not going to, so my second option would be Will and Jessie.”

So if Martin doesn't think his fave duo will take the crown, who does Martin reckon will be the winners of this season?

He added, “But I feel like, for some reason, I have a feeling Ron and Lana will win. But I don't think they should."

The dumped Casa Amor bombshell admitted that he "can see more chemistry with them two [Kai and Sanam] than with Ron and Lana."

Ron Hall and Lana Jenkins have had a bit of a tumultuous relationship throughout their stint in the villa, but this week they became official boyfriend and girlfriend. How very high school of them.

It all kicked off in last night's episode (Tuesday 28 February) when half the contestants seemed to turn on Jessie Wynter, implying that she wasn't being genuine with Farmer Will.

But if Martin is claiming that it's Ron and Lana who lack chemistry, who the hell are we to believe?
