The Love Island 2023 finale has come and gone (winter version FYI, we still have the classic summer edition coming in the, erm, summer) and our new winners were crowned; all hail king Kai Fagan and queen Sanam Harrinanan.

The teacher and social worker duo were definitely the dark horses of the competition and had been together the shortest amount of time out of the final four, but that didn't stop Kai and Sanam from winning the hearts of the nation and becoming our new Love Island royalty.

But how much did they ACTUALLY win by and was it a landslide victory à la national treasures Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham from Love Island 2018, who annihilated everyone else with nearly 80 per cent?

Or did they have a more subtle win like Millie Court and Liam Reardon from Love Island 2021 who took the prize money with 42.02 per cent?

Sanam and Kai made Love Island history when they won season nine as the first winning couple to get together at Casa Amor. Coming in at a glorious first place, Kai and Sanam received 43.75 per cent of viewers' votes.

Coming second, Lana Jenkins and Ron Hall went through one hell of a journey during their time in the villa, mainly because Ron's head turned every time a new bombshell strolled in. But, after moving past their trials and tribulations and becoming boyfriend and girlfriend, they made it into the top two and received 30.08 per cent of the votes.

Although it wasn't a huge difference between the two, we can all agree that Lana and Ron didn't really have a chance at beating Kai and Sanam.

Ron and Lana came in second

Third place went to Samie Elishiand Terrace Tom aka Tom Clare, who gained 23.65 per cent of the votes.

Slightly more of a close call between second and third, but wait till you see how much it dropped when we reached fourth place...

Tanya, Shaq, Samie and Tom came in 3rd and 4th

OG couple Tanya Manhenga and Shaq Muhammad came in fourth and they shockingly received just two per cent of the votes. We wonder if bombshell boy Martin Akinola was sabotaging the voting system because not even hitting double digits is savage.

Last year, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti won Love Island 2022 with a sensational 63.69 per cent of the votes, but that truly is nothing compared to 2018 winners Jack and Dani who are reigning champs with the highest votes in the final EVER. Will they ever be beaten?

Love Island will of course return in the summer - which is less than five months away, btw - and once again we will spend eight weeks obsessed with another bunch of gorge twenty somethings ready to steal our hearts and find a love of their own.

This time around we are hoping for a strong couple who can crush the competition and win by 90% because that would be truly iconic.
