It's been four years since our favourite series of Love Island and we're still obsessed with the Islanders.
We're of course talking about series five aka Love Island 2019.
Can't remember? It was the year Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea won but the real standout moment was Anna Vakili screaming "TWO DAYS" in Jordan Hames' face after he tried to 'crack on' with India Reynolds.
LOL.
That season was truly iconic and after Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury recently announced their split, we've been obsessing over what all the Islanders are doing now.
Another couple we've been thinking of is Maura Higgins and Chris Taylor. Remember, they met on Love Island 2019, were just pals but a year later they started dating. Fast forward six months and they split and neither of them spoke about their break up - until now.
If you've been watching Celebs Go Dating then you're probably aware that Chris is on the show and recently had a therapy session with Anna Williamson and Paul C Brunson where he spoke about his relationship with Maura.
Opening up, he said, "I became friends with Maura, and then yeah, we were mates for ages, and then it kind of progressed into other things."
He then admitted that while he loved Maura, he didn't believe she loved him... Ouch.
So, us being us, we decided to take our minds off Molly and Tommy's split and instead, have a deep dive into Chris and Maura's relationship and what went wrong.

Their relationship began in 2019 when they met on series five of Love Island.
Chris arrived as a late bombshell and chose Maura for one of his dates and while they hit it off as friends and were even in a couple at one point, she was waaaay more interested in Curtis Pritchard.

The Love Island 2019 stars remained friends and Chris even supported Maura (alongside Curtis) and her Boohoo ambassador event in September.
In March 2020, just before lockdown, Maura announced on Instagram that she'd split from Curtis. She said, "Curtis and I have made the decision to separate. We enjoyed a great experience from our time in the villa and want to thank everyone for supporting our relationship.
"There is no easy way to get through a break up and no bad feeling on either side. We tried to make it work but it wasn’t to be, and I wish Curtis nothing but the best for the future."

Fast forward to November and after months of speculation (and even denying the rumours), Chris and Maura confirmed they were dating by posting a loved up snap. She wrote, "He's mine ❤️" and Chris shared the exact same photo with the caption, "Turns out I fell in love with my best mate."
While Maura's BFF Molly-Mae Hague opened up about their relationship and they even appeared in her Dubai vlog, Curtis also spoke about Maura and Chris' relationship and fumed that they had 'betrayed' him.
At the time he told The Sun, "When I saw the pictures, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel hurt. I was upset. How long has this truly been going on for?
"At the time I was accused of cheating, but I never did. I was always faithful to Maura. Now her true colours are shown. They said they would never ever be together, and here they are."
Meanwhile Maura and Chris were still loved up in January 2021 and after teasing marriage plans and raunchy messages about Chris' peen, Maura insisting that her boyfriend was 'The One'.

In May 2021, after six months together Chris announced the end of his relationship with Maura.
"Hey guys. After some very heart felt conversations over the past few days, myself & Maura have decided to part ways.
"We are both still on very good terms and this was a mutual decision where nobody had done anything wrong."
He went on to say, "We will remain friends, as we have been since day 1 and I will always be in Maura's corner and have her back."
Maura added, "It breaks my heart to even type this, but I wanted to let everyone know that myself and Chris have made the joint decision to end our relationship."
Despite insisting that they'd remain pals, while Chris still follows Maura, she doesn't seem to be following him.
