How to dress like Harry Styles: Harry’s top three wardrobe staples (& how to style them)
Get excited- online personal styling service Stitch Fix UK has rounded up the top three Harry Styles-approved staples we all need in our wardrobes. Expert stylist and Styling Team Lead at Stitch Fix UK, Farrah-May Archer shares top tips on how to best style each Harry staple. From his affinity with high-waisted wide-leg trousers to his love of funky knitwear and sharp tailoring. You could say, we're putting the 'style' in Styles.
1) Wide-leg trousers
Farrah-May Archer Boadi, Styling Team Lead at Stitch Fix UK, comments: “No Harry Styles style round-up would be complete without mention of his impressive collection of wide-leg slacks. A far cry from the skinny jeans he donned during his 1D days, it’s a wide leg or nothing for Harry these days."
From the big baggy Molly Goddard jeans that featured on his latest album cover, ‘Harry’s House’, to the high-waisted Gucci flares he wore for ‘Fine Line’, Harry’s albums have not only served up bangers but a masterclass on how to look effortlessly chic in wide leg trousers.

"As Harry proves, the wide-leg look doesn’t just stop at trousers. Thanks to the resurgence of Y2K, baggy jeans have been having a moment for quite some time now. Add contrasting dimensions to your outfit by pairing baggy jeans with a tight-fitting, white ribbed vest. Want to elevate the look? Simply add your favourite pair of boots or loafers - the go-to shoe this season – and the jeans will fall so satisfyingly on top."

Farrah-May adds, "When my Stitch Fix clients request denim, I usually pull inventory from high-street favourites like French Connection and Mint Velvet. Or from denim pioneers like Mavi and Levi’s. All are brands that create denim that is both affordable and comfortable, whilst also offering varied products for every size and unique style.”
2) Knitwear
Farrah-May explains: “From *that* sheep-print sweater vest he wore whilst out in New York City to the JW Anderson patchwork cardigan that sparked a crocheting trend on TikTok, Harry’s iconic knitwear moments beg one simple question – how does Harry Styles make our grandads’ wardrobe look so cool?"

"Trends come and go, but four years after the knitted vest gained popularity across the AW20 catwalks of Dior and Prada - and with celebrity trendsetters alike - our obsession with this style is still alive and kicking. Fashion took this once ‘uncool’ garment and breathed a new lease of life into it. Now the sweater vest is a staple in our wardrobes all year round.
"Perfect for winter layering over a plain white tee, opt for a bright shade to add a pop of colour to your look, or lighter pastel shades for a clean, fresh vibe. Feeling more risqué, or want to flex your arms in the warmer months? Harry has also been known to push the vest out of grandad territory by ditching the layering and simply wearing *just* the vest. So damn cool. Complete the look by colour-blocking your vest with footwear and accessories."

"When it comes to cardigans, think like Harry and opt for big and cosy styles. These bright, statement knits are a great outerwear piece to throw on over a baggy jean and white vest combo (another Harry staple). Elevate the ‘cool’ with some finishing touches, like a silk neckerchief, layers of gold chains or his fave, a pearl necklace. Comfy and stylish: what more could you ask for in an outfit?”

How to dress like Harry Styles, staple No.3: Suiting
Farrah-May continues: “One trend we can always count on Harry to deliver? Statement suiting. From a bold yellow three-piece to electric blue velvet and even a fully floral Gucci fit, Harry proves that a suit doesn’t have to be boring.
"When it comes to suiting and booting, Harry prefers a sharply tailored look. Think strong shoulders, slightly cropped at the wrists and drawn in at the midriff. This may explain why his usual choice of a blazer is double-breasted, as this style cinches in and accentuates the waist, which creates a defined silhouette. Underneath, Harry turns up the heat. How? By styling the blazer with a tight white tank top, unbuttoned shirt or even baring all with high-waisted suit trousers. Glam rock at its finest."

"In typical Harry fashion, it doesn’t stop there. The king of elevation, Harry can always be trusted to zhuzh up his suiting with accessories and added extras – with his clear favourite being neckwear. Fuschia neck scarves, a Gucci feather boa, exaggerated collars...These accessories are rarely missing from a suited Harry look which, alongside the sharp tailoring, add an element of ‘camp’ that only upholds his iconic androgynous style.”
