You’d think the worst part of your first day in the Love Island villa would be standing in heels all day in the boiling heat but for one series 10 Islander they had it much worse - they fainted.

Can’t remember series 10 aka Love Island 2023? It was the year that starred winners Jess Harding and Sammy Root, the iconic Whitney Adebayo and the gorgeous Catherine Agbaje.

We still think it was one of the most savage seasons because Catherine and Elom Ahlijah-Wilson were dumped out of the blue and to make matters worse, the Irish babe’s besties Whitney and Ella Thomas had to deliver the news.

Peak.

Anyway, two years on (and after an All Stars stint) Catherine has opened up about her first day in the villa and as it turns out, it wasn't as glam as it looked.

‘Do you know I fainted on my first day,’ she told Cosmopolitan.

‘I was so overwhelmed because you’re in a new villa, lots of English people - I’m the only Irish person - I’m stood for hours in heels, in the sun and I was like, “Lord…”

‘Then I fainted. They gave me sweets, they were like, “Sweets. Take them.”’

Poor Catherine.

Luckily she was fine and still walked into the villa as an OG and it turns out her All Stars pal Harriett Blackmore also didn’t have the happiest first day in the villa.

‘I was crying all the way up to the door because I wasn’t meant to be starting - I was meant to be a bombshell - but when I got there they were like, “Oh you’re starting.”

‘It was really overwhelming. My process was really quick as well so I was feeling all over the place but I’m so glad I did it,’ she admitted.

Harriett -  who returned to the villa for All Stars series two - then added, ‘I think I was really emotional last year and that wasn’t even me but I honestly think it’s because I felt like it was too much.

'I was overwhelmed but then after a week I found my feet and was fine.’

Glad they both made it work because imagine not witnessing Catherine and Scott van-der-Sluis will-they-won't-they relationship or Harriett's love triangle with Ronnie Vint and Jess White - their OG seasons would not be the same.
