As the dust settles in the Love Island villa, the couples are trying to get their relationships back on track after the chaos and drama of Casa Amor. But as the romances start to rekindle, viewers insist ITV bring back Movie Night to reveal one Islander who isn't being completely honest and no, it's not Olivia Hawkins it's actually Ron Hall.
While the girls and guys were separated, a few heads were indeed turned and one lad in particular who had a tough decision to make was everyone's favourite 6ft5 mass of muscle - Tom Clare who had caught the eye of Lydia Karakyriakou.
In classic Tom style, the northern lad aka Terrace Tom shared a cheeky kiss on the terrace with the bombshell.
Before Casa Amor, Tom was couple up with Samie Elishiand they were all hunky-dory. Although the boys didn't know that Samie was chatting to Ryan Weekley, it didn't stop her apparent close pal Ron Hall telling Tom, "I'd be very surprised if she hasn't been open to getting to know people and doing certain things."
Ron, you interfering so and so.
The Essex boy added, "I can't see her coming back on her own" before telling Tom to not "deep it" if he recoupled with Lydia. He even went as far as to say, "If I was in your shoes I'd probably protect myself."
Once the ladies returned from Casa Amor, Samie was relieved to find that Tom was single but soon after Terrace Tom's kissing antics came to light.
Lydia then added salt in the wound when she told Samie that Ron was encouraging Tom to make some moves which Ron flat out denied.
Ron, hunny, you do realise this show is filmed for telly, right? After defending himself, viewers were left furious with his lies and jumped to Twitter to air their views.
One person tweeted, "#loveisland Ron is shit stirring why is he encouraging the boys to re couple".
Someone else said, "PLEASE movie night expose Ron’s lying ass #loveisland".
Another person wrote, "Ron you LITERALLY told Tom that there’s no way Samie wasn’t entertaining other boys now you gonna say you didn’t? Please show him at movie night #loveisland".
One more added, "Didn’t we all watch the same Casa Amor? Ron & Lana are a match made in ‘rewriting history’ heaven! They are constantly manipulating the truth! We ALL witnessed Ron telling all the guys to explore in Casa, roll on movienight #loveisland".
If the producers do one thing right this year it will be bringing back Movie Night and exposing all the Islanders.
There hasn't yet been a hint that Movie Night will return for 2023 but after the drama around Faye Winter receiving 25k Ofcom complaints, it's probably a rather touchy subject. However there is do denying that Movie Night will be a much welcomed episode for everyone.
Will there be a Movie Night Love Island challenge in 2023?
Despite the controversy from previous years, it didn't stop producers from going ahead with the Movie Night challenge in 2022, so fingers crossed that it'll return in 2023.
When is Love Island's movie night due to air?
In 2021, movie night took place during week five, just a few days after everyone returned to the main villa. It has been two days since Casa Amor ended and the couples seem to be reaching a good place which is usually the moment the producers like to rock the boat.
If movie night is on the cards this year we predict it happening before the week is up.
Movie Night in 2022
Movie Night 2022 was a dramatic one.
After the Casa Amor girls received a little bit too much attention from Jacques O’Neilland Dami Hope, fans were desperate for movie night to “expose” Dami, Andrew Le Page and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu's naughty antics and they delivered.
Before the footage was aired, Dami knew that he was definitely going to make an appearance, saying, "Personally, I know I am starring in this movie!”
Ekin-Su, who got up to some mischief with Casa Amor's George Tasker, told partner Davide, “If we pass this we’re fine.”
It wasn't THAT bad as both Dami and Indiyah Polack and Ekin-Su and Davide Sanclimenti are still together.
Movie Night in 2021
2021 was the year we were introduced to the Movie Night task which tricked the Islanders into watching past footage of themselves from the villa.
Movie night caused huge distress in the villa that year, with Faye Winter and Teddy Soares’ explosive row where she called him pretty much every swear word under the sun.
As much as we are desperate for the girls to see the shenanigans that went on while the girls were away, the chaos 2021’s movie night ensued with Faye and Teddy racked up an astonishing 25,000 Ofcom complaints.
What have Love Island producers said about movie night?
On a question-and-answer forum on Reddit, an executive producer of the show explained, “We have published our duty of care protocols very publicly and we have an incredible welfare team on the series.
“I agree we have to be incredibly considered when making editorial decisions. We are also making a dating entertainment series, but humour is normally at the heart of most storylines.
“I think we are considered and it always becomes tricky with the passing of information but we aim to find balance in the show.”
